Picture - That's me!
I am Ishnoor Singh and I study in Delhi Public School (DPS), Sector 45 at Gurgaon in Class 12. I’ve taken the Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Economics combination in school. My father, Jatinder Pal Singh Sehdev, is an Electronics and Communications Engineer and my mother is an Executive and Leadership coach by profession and specializes in leaders in technology companies and women leadership.
Since both my parents work in the technology space, I’ve also been drawn to technology from a very young age. I have spent years trying to build and assimilate things.

After experimenting a lot, I’ve built a unique home automation system, that runs on an Android app, and can be operated from any phone. You can remotely control your light switches, and turn them on and off, when you like irrespective of where you are.
Picture - A glimpse of the prototype
The system uses commercially available Arduino, Wifi, Relays and Power Converter. You can use this to control 4 switches at one time, and is super easy to operate. This is a great tool to use when you are travelling and need to safeguard your house. This will help elders a great deal when they are away.
The amount raised will help me cover the cost of:
There’s a very simple story behind trying to create an effective home automation system. Every time my grandparents would come to visit me, they would constantly worry about the safety of their house. They would call and trouble their neighbours to go and check on their house, turn on the lights in the evenings to create an impression that they are home and so on. Of course, the most natural solution to this problem was to get a home automation system installed.
So, I looked up at options and found out that the systems that were available were expensive, complicated and can only be operated by the tech savvy. What my grandparents, and many others like them need is a simple, affordable, easy-to-use system that can help them control their lights remotely.
That is when I got to work, and started putting together a new-system in place. I have a working model ready, but will need help from funders like you to build the prototype.
I was in class 7 when I made a robotic vehicle which could navigate its path on an obstacle course. It was fitted with a programmable brain, software controlled motors and optical sensors.

The second one I made a few years ago was a unique arduino based assembly with a motion detector, an LED and a vibration motor. I used this system to simply help get rid the habit of shaking my leg, where every time I did that, the LED would glow. A video demonstration is below-
There are minimal risks for the creation of the prototype. The main risk is, however, that of achieving the price target on the prototype for Rs 1000. Since the initial component purchase is not in bulk so the cost of components may be high. However, as I go through the process, I will be able to estimate the final pricing for the commercial model.
A Prototype of a Controlling device, that can be installed in the cavity behind the electric switches.
A single device can control up to 4 switches.
The device will use Wifi to connect to an Internet server, an app on the Android phone will control each appliance separately using a simple toggle switch through the user interface
Yes, as long as the device is connected to the internet via wifi and the user mobile is connected to the internet, the switches can be controlled easily.
It will take 6-8 weeks after the funding is completed.
Fueladream charges 2% for the payment for the payment gateway and 7% as crowdfunding charges. With Goods and Services Tax the total comes to 10.62%. There is also an initial fee of 3000 INR which is being waived-off for me.
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly. It’s s concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream is a crowdfunding site and platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds.
You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on a FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries in addition to tax benefits.
Happy Independence Day!
I am pleased to share that I have been able to overcome the design challenges and have ordered the first lot of PCBs.
10 PCBs will be delivered next week. Next step for me is to order the components and I am in the process of finalizing that this week.
Hi,
we have reached the end of week 4, and this hasn't been the most productive week. There was a minor setback in the PCB design process as one of the libraries that was being used for the wifi-board wasn't compatible with our current software, so we had to work on reproducing the library such that it was compatible. As of now, the library has been changed and we are updating the PCB design to work well the new library. We are back on track but we suffered a delay of a few days because of this glitch. By the next week, we hope to have ordered the PCBs.
Hi! We are at the end of week 3 and I am a happy to share with you that the circuit design is now completed and I am now working on PCB design.
Also glad to share that thanks to Fueladream team and All of you, my campaign featured in Hindustan Times on 30th July in print media as well as online media. Youtube Video link, a click of part of the article and the link to online article is as below:
Hi,
I have started the circuit & pcb design process, and plan to complete that work in next 10 days!.
I will keep you all posted!
It's more than a week since I posted the project on Fueladream!
To say I am overwhelmed by the response, would be a gross understatement.
I achieved 100% funding in just 10 hours and currently stand at 168% funding.
Thank you so much for a truly amazing response!
I have decided to cut the campaign short, it will end over this weekend. All the extra money, that I have collected over my initial budget, will be used to create a larger number of prototypes for the initial test marketing.
Over the last week, I have started to contact professionals who will be helping me design the prototype. The first step I am focussed on is the design of a single motherboard PCB that can do all that my functional model does. This is essential to eliminate the multi-board design as it would help me decrease the footprint enough for the device to make it much more practical.
Once again, thanks a lot for your amazing support!
