PIC: Prajwal and Chaya
I am Prajwal, a fitness consultant from Bangalore. When I was 18, I lost my left-leg in a major accident. I was crushed by the incident and found it extremely difficult to cope with the harsh reality of losing a limb. However, Chaya stood by me as my pillar of strength through my dark days. With her constant support and tireless encouragement from my family members, I went on to become the only amputee gym instructor in all of India. Chaya and I also decided to take our relationship to the next level and get engaged.

Just when we had begun to believe that life was getting back to normal, Chaya was diagnosed with a fatal, life-threatening brain tumor. This was 3 weeks after our engagement ceremony. It was a huge blow to me, and I was, of course, crestfallen. We went to the best doctors and enquired about how we can save Chaya’s life. The only option was to put her on several sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The cost of the treatment is amounting to almost INR 12,00,000. My earnings as a gym instructor is decent enough to support regular expenses, but this amount is way beyond my means. Chaya’s family too comes from a lower middle class background and has a hard time meeting ends. Running short of funds to cover her treatment expenses was only one end of the problem. On the other end, Chaya’s condition was getting more critical and time was soon running out..
We also tried the option of claiming insurance, but nothing could be worked out. When I had hit a dead end and was losing all hope, I couldn’t help but think of Chaya’s undeterred support in my trying times. I decided not to give up and find a solution to the problem. Now, only you can help me and Chaya get out of this grave situation.
I need your help to raiseINR 11,80,900. Every rupee raised through your contribution will help cover Chaya’s expenses and give her a new lease of life!
About Chaya’s Tumor
Chaya is diagnosed with Anaplastic astrocytoma, a rare, malignant brain tumor (WHO grade III). The tumor starts in star-shaped brain cells called astrocytes. Although not curable, the tumor is treatable. The treatment is aimed at keeping the tumor from growing and causing more symptoms using many different tools including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.
Chaya underwent a craniotomy on the 8th of June, and the reports showed that her condition is extremely critical. If timely help is not provided, the tumor can grow and be fatal.
