This crowdfunding initiative of mine is a campaign that is being done by me and other interns at YUVA UNSTOPPABLE to raise funds that will help educate brilliant students who come from economically stressed families. This will help them build careers and get them out of the vicious circle of poverty that has plagued their families for generations. This is being done in the city of Ahmedabad.

These funds are to educate daughters and sons of maids, daily wage labor, auto drivers and transform their lives. The focus is mainly on educating them from the 11th grade onwards. This program is called UDAAN as its gives them wings to grow and prosper. These kids are brilliant as most of them have scored 90 % plus.

The cost of their education for an entire year is  just INR 25000 per student. I am planning to raise INR 25000 and fund the education of one brilliant child for a year. The funds we raise go to YUVA UNSTOPPABLE which is a non-profit. Any funding you make will be eligible for 80G tax benefits.

Educate, Empower, Elevate: Scholarship Programs

• According to the government studies, out of 300 million school going age children only about 180 millions of them are actually in schools. 48% of India’s children are not enrolled in higher secondary school because of financial problems. At Yuva, we have pledged to help maximum students.
• Udaan is a scholarship program aimed to provide financial help to bright yet needy students from class 11th till they complete a degree course of their choice. Students will be selected based on a rigorous process including written test, personal interviews, etc.

ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN

My name is KHUSHI PANJWANI. Am 17-years-old  & am a 12th-grade student at the EKALAVYA school in AHMEDABAD.

I have started this campaign to raise awareness and funds to transform the lives of children of daily wage labor, maids, auto drivers and the very poor who live in slums in Ahmedabad and neighbouring areas by funding their education.

I want to make a difference to other kids of my age through this campaign. The fact that just INR 25000 can fund their education for a year is something that made me want to do this even more. Please fund my campaign as a simple act of kindness on your part can have a profound impact on a child’s life. It will give them education, confidence and a career.

Let us make a difference together. If I collect more funds we can fund their education for a longer time.

ABOUT YUVA UNSTOPPABLE

The younger generation has the opportunity to propel society into a higher stature by breaking down the barriers that cause social injustices. YUVA UNSTOPPABLE is one such force which relies on the strength of its volunteers and the power of its youth to bring about a positive change in the society.

What started in 2005 with a small group of enthusiastic individuals who strongly and deeply believed in the power of youth, has today mobilized more than 1.5L youngsters  & touched the lives of over 5L people across the country. Amongst the many initiatives that YUVA undertakes, is the evolution program wherein it partners with philanthropists, social entrepreneurs and corporate houses to improve the basic infrastructural amenities such as drinking water, urinals, wash areas and the classrooms, of municipal schools thus improving the lives of the children, especially the daughters making them more self-reliant, encouraging them to educate themselves, learn and participate in classes and workshops in various subjects improving their skills and their self -esteem. Since the inception of this project in 2013 it has transformed over 950 extremely poor government schools across India.

YUVA Unstoppable partners with 100 top institutes for impactful CSR (IBM, UNICEF, Google, Adani, Vedanta Group, Torrent, Dishman Pharma, Reliance, Coke, Hinduja, HDFC Group, Kotak, SGS, etc) and have transformed 950 municipal schools &  impacted 500000 kids across 14 States in India (better toilets, improved drinking water, sanitation, women's hygiene, scholarships, digital literacy, value based training, etc.). There are 1.1M schools in India and more than 50% still don’t have toilets for the girl child.

TAX BENEFITS

Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the NGO is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is accepted too.

FEEDBACK

To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from the NGO (this takes between 2 to 3 months usually after the funds are raised & transferred to them) telling us who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign and will be in a format like the one below. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an SMS and EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about who benefitted. That's transparent right.
