WE NEED HELP TO REVIVE A 4.5 ACRE LAKE LOCATED NEAR BANNERGHATTA, BANGALORE. READ THE STORY AND FUND MY CAMPAIGN GENEROUSLY.
We are five classmates who study in grade 8 at the Vidyashilp Academy and have taken up a project to revive a lake. Our team is called the Waveriders. This is also a part of WFUNA’s (World Federation of United Nations Association) Mission Possible program. The lake we have chosen is situated near Bannerghatta. This is a herculean task and we are happy that we are partnering with the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar and getting advice and expertise from the lake revival expert Anand Malligavad.
THIS IS WHAT THE PLACE LOOKS AT PRESENT
The lake is currently overgrown with brush, grass, and soil and does not look anything like a lake. It needs a huge amount of work to revive.
WE AIM TO REVIVE THE LAKE IN 60 DAYS!
We are taking a small step in solving Bangalore’s water scarcity problem. We plan to filter the water, clean the lake and install various materials to make sure that our solution is sustainable. To assure sustainability, we have made sure that the below 5 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are covered.
To make our dream a reality, we need your help. Every rupee you contribute, small or big in amount, to this project, will bring our previous planet one big step closer to its former natural glory. Our target is raising 10 Lakhs for Phase 1, which is why we need your contributions! Phase one includes Cleaning, Desilting, Bund strengthening, Stone pitch, Plastic trap, Labour, Design & Drawings, Food water & miscellaneous.
IF WE RAISE MORE WE CAN FUND THE DESILTING OF A NEIGHBOURING LAKE TOO. THIS CAMPAIGN HAS 80G TAX BENEFITS AND WE WILL GIVE YOU FEEDBACK ON HOW THE FUNDS ARE USED AND THE IMPACT WE MAKE.
You can do much more than you think by just funding us, so much more. No step you take is small, so give back to your planet and thank it by helping us help you. Lake rejuvenation will not only benefit the flora and fauna, but also the people of Bangalore. These small stepping stones will lead to the result of the bigger picture, they will result in a better, brighter future for our planet.
It is said Bangalore was called the city of lakes with 260 lakes in and around Bangalore. With the growth of the city, the lakes started vanishing and now we are left with 80 polluted lakes. With the dying lakes, vanished the surrounding plant and animal ecosystem, the flora and fauna and most importantly, the water. The city has tripled in size, the population has doubled with water available to only 60% of the population. This project is our little contribution to get one lake back into the city.
ABOUT ME & OUR TEAM:
My name is Mishti Kewalramani. I study in the 8th grade at the Vidyashilp Academy. A mere 5 months ago, 4 of my classmates and decided to join WFUNA’s (World Federation of the United Nations Association) Mission Possible program, where we took upon ourselves the initiative to revive a lake in Bangalore, Karnataka.
This lake is situated on the outskirts of the rural areas of Bannerghatta, where there is huge potential for migration of animals and agricultural development. By choosing this venture as our project, we will be including 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals mentioned above.
My aim is to raise INR 2,00,000 or more, and I hope to do that with the help of all of your generous donations. Change starts with you, so please contribute to my campaign, whether the amount is small or big. Give back to this glorious planet by helping us help you!

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
