We are five friends who study in grade 8 at the Vidyashilp Academy and have taken up a project to provide tables and benches to a school in Bangalore. This is also a part of WFUNA’s (World Federation of United Nations Association) Mission Possible programme. The school is Gnana Jyothi Vidya Mandira located in Bangalore. The students at the school sit on mats or on poor and non-ergonomic seating arrangements.

JUST INR 5138 WILL GIVE 2 STUDENTS A DESK AND BENCH. 

There are 120 school children enrolled for the academic year 2019-2020, and when we looked into the family / socio-economic background, all of the 120 children are from below poverty line families. The school also includes children with learning disabilities, hearing impaired, and autism.  Such children need a special school which their parents are neither aware of nor want to take the trouble to research and send them to.  Gnana Jyothi Vidya Mandira has teachers trained to cope with a few of these issues but no teaching aids are available for the same.

To make our dream a reality, we need your help. Every rupee you contribute, small or big in amount, to this project, will help improve the school and the experience of every student who goes there. Our target is raising 4.5 Lakhs, which is why we need your contributions! Our first aim is to ensure that there are enough tables and benches, anything we raise above that will go to building a kitchen for mid-day meals and then the library and so on.

ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN

My name is Hitha Hulikunte Mattadha and I study in class 8 in Vidyashilp Academy. I, along with my team have taken up the Mission Possible programme organised by the World Federation of United Nations Association (WFUNA). During this programme we will be trying to impact the lives of the underprivileged people. I personally love to read books. They are small portals which hold realms and dimensions of knowledge. My team and I believe that this knowledge should not be held close but spread to everyone. However, we realised that not everyone has access to education and a comfortable and welcoming educational environment. We thus came to a decision to help make underprivileged students lives easier. Gnana Jyoti Vidya Mandira is a school which has 119 students. Each and everyone of these students come from a family below poverty line. The students sit on the floor to study. This proves detrimental to their proper development as many can develop back and neck problems, not to mention it reducing their concentration in class. The school does not have access to clean drinking water. There are students with learning disabilities and the teachers are unaware of how to teach them. Me and my team will get these students the proper furniture they need for their proper development for which I need to raise 75,000/-.We will also be installing a water purifier. We hope to build a library so that these children will be able to access the vast stores of knowledge which we take for granted. We hope to construct music and sports rooms so that the students will be more happy to come to school, which can be accoplished by the support of like-minded people. We will be training the teachers on how to teach students with learning disabilities so that even these children can flourish in life. We hope to make learning a fun experience for these kids and help them to learn better. We want to make sure everyone has access to a comfortable experience as this will help them decide their future. ABOUT ROTARY BANGALORE INDIRANAGAR

Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar, is a 140 member club, with members from diverse communities and regions. HOW TO FUND THIS CAMPAIGN

Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
