BACKGROUND
In the 2019 Global Hunger Index, India ranks 102nd out of 117 qualifying countries. With a score of 30.3, India suffers from a level of hunger that is serious. Moreover, UNICEF’s report 'The State of the World's Children 2019’ informed that only 42 percent of the children are given food at adequate intervals and 21 percent of the children get a sufficiently varied diet.
Responsenet works every day to provide nutrition and food for education to over 17,000 vulnerable children in 70 feeding centers which include non-formal schools across 13 states of India. These children are supported to be able to enter mainstream education, escape poverty and succeed in life.
Responsenet also provides after-school learning centers for children to engage productively after school. With the focus on providing meals to these children. Responsenet not only ensures nourishing meals are provided but also makes sure these meals help the children attend school, learn better and lead a healthier life.
WHAT WE DO
It’s proven that a hungry child cannot learn. To overcome this challenge, Responsenet began the Nutrition and Food for Education program for children who are mostly off the streets and migrants, lacking access to any formal education. Through our program, we help bridge the learning gap and link them to regular schools. It takes only 15 rupees to feed one wholesome meal (lunch) to a child or only 450 rupees to feed a child for an entire month. Good food and nutrition are not only the foundation of children’s health and future, but they are also a child’s basic needs.
I am doing this campaign along with my classmates to raise awareness and funds for Responsenet Development Services. Funds raised would be used to provide lunches to children in the NCR region. Please fund this campaign generously.
All it costs is INR 4500 to feed a child for a year.
WHY WE FOCUS ON FOOD AS THE FOUNDATION OF NURTURING CHILDREN
Over 84 Million Children out of which 20 Million Girls drop out of school every year.
32% of girls are not enrolled—compared to 28% of boys across India.
Enable secondary school bridging for vulnerable children.
Increase the number of bridging schools for vulnerable children nearest to their communities.
Increase the quality of education for vulnerable children to access the same education as regular schools.
Minimize at-risk girls to enroll and stay safe with the power of education and enable better decision-making.
Increase the quality of teacher training to ensure quality education delivery.
Dialogues with children's parents, especially of a girl child, to ensure they send their children to learn.

ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is ARJUN KAKRU and I am a Grade 8 student at Pathways School, Noida.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think having a full meal a day is something that is a basic need for anyone. I can never imagine not being able to get food as and when I want it. I was surprised to learn that there are so many young children who do not know when their next meal will be made available to them.
RESPONSENET an NGO based in Delhi (also known as DELHI FOODBANK) has started an initiative to give lunch to children who are mostly off the streets and migrants, lacking access to any formal education in the NCR region. This program helps bridge the learning gap and link them to regular schools. It takes only INR 15 to feed one wholesome meal to a child. These children who are being supported by RESPONSENET in Delhi/NCR region are from Schools, non-formal schools and Creches. The cost per child per annum is INR 4500. (300 meals per annum)
They are doing well at school despite adverse circumstances and conditions. The fact that raising 22500 INR or more can give food to 5 children for a whole year is something that I am very excited about.
Please support my campaign and let us together bring confidence and change into the lives of these fellow students. Most of them drop out of school because they don't get to eat anything the whole day and fall sick. This initiative by RESPONSENET motivates students to go to school, remain healthy and continue with their education with a big smile.
Please fund this campaign. You can also share it on social media as that will be a big help.

The details will then be posted from RESPONSENET on the UPDATES section of my campaign. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an SMS and EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link in the email and you can read about who benefitted. That's transparent right.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
