COVID-19 lockdown has transformed the lives of lakhs of people. The worst-hit are the daily wage labourers and the street dwellers. There are many daily-wage labourers without homes in Mumbai who are now hungry and on the streets- living on pavements or under bridges. This initiative is about giving them a healthy, tasty meal once a day. The meals are delivered to them. Ms.Neeti Goel and her daughter Aneka Goel are currently delivering 3000 meals a day and need to do this at least for the next 10-days or more. The demand is for more than 20000 meals a day and it pains me that we cannot feed them all.
Ideally, they would like to raise INR 40L and feed 20000 people plus a day. Do your bit and fund generously. All funding has 80G Tax benefits and a lot of blessings. After all, we cannot let them starve. Read details below with respect to where we distribute this, the menu for the meals and see images of actual distribution.
THE COST PER MEAL IS JUST INR 20 (INCL PACKAGING + DISTBN). FUND INR 5000 FOR EXAMPLE AND IMPACT 250 PEOPLE FOR A DAY.
MEAL PACKETS TO BE PROVIDED
We have tied up with a caterer to help produce these meals in such large quantities. He is located in the Chembur area. He can supply 3000 meals daily. My mother's restaurant can do 1000 meals and her fellow restaurateurs are prepping to also supply.
ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN:
After the lockdown was announced on March 24th by the Government, I was taking a stroll and my mother asked me to go with her to buy some medicines for my grandfather to which I obliged.
On our way back we saw a cluster of people under the bridge among them were some small children crying and their mother was trying to make them sleep and I could see her eyes were moist. I decided to go and ask them what they needed, they said that they were migrant labourers and were homeless as couldn’t head back home to their villages as all means of transport were stalled and the worst is yet to come, they were starving for days as they had no employment.
Tears just trickled down my eyes and I immediately sprang to action and requested my mother to arrange food for them. We always keep biscuits for the needy with us. Then I started to find out what’s happening to the migrant workers, daily wagers, and construction site workers and to my horror I found out there are thousands of such families with children lie abandoned and stranded in cities like Mumbai without basic needs like food, water and shelter.
My mother is from the hospitality industry and operates multiple restaurants I requested my mother to help me devise a scheme to feed these people in their hour of need. I then channelized my energies into getting more and more people to know about the small cost and humane benefits to fund us in my project.
My parents were extremely supportive and we started with 100 meals on 25th March which was so satisfying experience so on 26th March we did 250 meals and 27th a whole project took another dimension and we served 1200 freshly cooked meals to the people in need. With everyone's support from them now we are serving 3000 fresh meals once a day and have a requirement for 15000.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
