SONU SOOD'S COVID-19 CAMPAIGN - GIVING FOOD/RATION PACKS TO MIGRANT LABOUR IN MUMBAI by LALA BHAGWANDAS TRUST | Fueladream

Celebrities from all corners of the globe are currently coming together to lend their support in order to fight COVID-19. Right from raising funds to providing support to healthcare workers on the frontline - they're doing everything in their capacity to help. After providing his Juhu hotel in Mumbai for accommodation to Doctors, Nurses and paramedical staff, B-town star Sonu Sood has now started a special food and ration drive to help the needy.

This is being done in partnership with Prof. Saroj Sood Memorial Trust and Lala Bhagwandas Trust.

Sonu has started this initiative that aims at feeding more than one lakh migrant workers, homeless labourers in Mumbai every week. The food and ration drive is called Shakti Annadanam and is said to be very close to his heart. The actor feels it's extremely important to help and feed people right now as it's the need of the hour and sad how several don't have food right now for their survival. This is not the first time when Sood has helped individuals in the name of his father. Earlier too, he has fed people at different Gurudwaras.

Opening up about the same, Sonu Sood says

"Right now we are all together in these tough times against the Coronavirus. Some of us are blessed to have food and shelter, but there are many who have not eaten meals in days, and it's really difficult for them. To help these people, I've started a special food and ration drive in my father's name, which is called Shakti Annadanam along with my friend Neeti Goel who happens to be a restauranteur and is already involved in helping the needy with dry rations and food and has already provided 45000 meals till now. We together with a team of dedicated Volunteers, want to reach out to everyone to come forward and help us in our endeavour. I look forward to your kind contribution in realizing this goal."
