It is estimated that 200 million people live in urban slums of India. Just in Bangalore, we have 36 slums around the city. The high density of the population makes them prone to any contagion. The COVID-19 lockdown has affected the livelihood of daily wage workers in the urban slums. The residents tie handkerchiefs or shirt sleeves around their faces in lieu of proper masks. With disposable masks, it is not practical to provide a new mask every next day.
Recognizing this need, Schoolay has launched an innovative "Schoolay Defender Masks" which is re-usable up to 30 washes. Rather than making them in factories which is 20% cheaper, Schoolay has chosen to use daily-wage tailors who are struggling to earn their livelihood amidst lockdown.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly. It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
