BACKDROP:
Farmers in the Marathwada & Vidarbha region of Maharashtra are reeling from a drought of unparalleled magnitude. While there is not enough water for farming they have just enough water in many cases for themselves.
But what about the cows, buffaloes, bulls etc – they produce milk, help the farmers plough their fields and are a source of income & livelihood for the farmers
We must do something about this!
ACTION PLAN:
The Suryoday Parivar through the Suryoday Jeevdaya Abhiyan has already started installing water stations for these cattle. These are large tub shaped installations that hold water. We deploy them in specific areas in villages & supply water everyday for the cattle. This insures the farmer, as cattle are a LIFELINE for his family.
No wonder they say “GAAY HAMARI MATA HAI”. We need your funding to make this a reality. We are planning to install “15” number of these stations in 3 areas- Latur, Horti & Tuljapur Taluk.
