India's lockdown has been extended to halt the spread of COVID-19. People have been told to stay indoors, and for many daily-wage earners, this is a doomsday scenario as it means they are now facing the prospect of no income for even longer. While the govt will provide some of them with relief packages we need to understand that the task is massive. Many are unregistered migrant labour and need our help to survive this crisis.
Recognizing this need, the Rotary Club of Bombay began distributing packed cooked meals to the needy. The meals are delivered directly to them. They are currently delivering more than 30000 meals a day and will continue to do so until the lockdown is lifted. The demand for food packets is overwhelming, and it is hard to turn people away when the food packs run out.
Funds from this campaign will be utilized in Mumbai.

ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN:
My name is ARAV SIDHWANI, I am a Grade 11 student at The American School of Bombay.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us in different ways. Perhaps the hardest hit are the migrant workers, the needy and the daily wage labourers. Their lives have been turned upside down overnight and they are having a traumatic experience.
Suddenly they are without any source of income, and even something as basic as food is a nightmare for them. So how will they survive?
I learnt about this initiative being done by the Rotary Club of Bombay where they are currently distributing 30000 meals every day through multiple kitchens. My campaign aims to help as many of them as possible. I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can feed them and possibly feed many more.
The funds collected from this crowdfunding campaign would transform their lives and bring more than just a smile to them. Let's come together and do our bit.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
