Living through a pandemic has been easy, neither for us nor the animals roaming our streets. As we minimize our connections with people, our animals outside are left hungry for days. Fewer people on the roads has resulted in less food and water for them. Just like we are stuck in our homes, they are stuck in a cycle of hunger. As we keep updating ourselves with the severity of this pandemic and doing our best to minimize its effects, let’s also join hands in making sure our animals outside do not die of starvation.
Dedicated volunteers scour lanes and by-lanes, abandoned plots and patches with sheer grit, lots of love and compassion, to care for these animals. Food is bought from the Akshaya Patra Foundation, and local fruit & vegetable vendors. Dietary requirements of the animals are as follows:-
- Dogs are fed with chapatis and milk.
- Monkeys are given bananas & tomatoes.
- Birds are given grains.
- Cows are given chapatis
TEAM IN ACTION
ABOUT ME
My name is RIDHI JAIN, 18 years old in Grade 12 at Jayshree Periwal International school, Jaipur.
The lockdown has affected the world as a whole, including another sizeable population - stray animals. The strays have no means of feeding themselves as they were dependant on human activity for survival but since all offices, restaurants, roadside eateries (where they had easy accessibility to food) are closed, they are starving. Let's stand up for our belief in feeding the unvoiced.
With your help, we can help helpless animals survive such unprecedented times.
ABOUT INNAYAT
Innayat, a social organization started in 2018 by a group of high school students, aims to effectuate change in our society. We, at Innayat, place our confidence in the power of youth to recognize, realize, and transform the world. Two years ago, when we started, we used the power of knowledge and conducted awareness drives on various issues. Gradually, as we grew and expanded our reach through the support of the Jaipur community, we successfully conducted sanitary napkin donation drives and blood donation camp. Innayat has also previously partnered with PETA INDIA to fight for the rights of elephants and camels. And now, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Team Innayat has taken up the responsibility to feed stray animals in Jaipur.
FAQs
How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
