Some stark realities of India
- 400 million Indians live in darkness after the sun sets
- Many villages have not experienced electricity and that defines their life.
Now you can bring light to the lives of 149 homes (approx 1000 individuals) in the remote hamlets of Gunjibadi and Manikeshwar in the tribal hinterlands of Orissa.
How we intend to bring light to these hamlets ?
* We want to do this at a cost of just 835 INR per home.
* Each home gets 2 solar lamps for 835 INR .
* If you fund 8350 INR you can light up 10 homes for 3-5 years
* Impact : 8 hamlets,149 homes ,1000 people @Gunjibadi and Manikeshwar, Orissa

The downside of not having light
Education suffers, as kids cannot read. Kerosene lamps come with the danger of fire, injury and even death. Lifestyles are impacted as most work needs to finish before sunset & the village continues to live in the 19th century as they have minimal access to information and news around them (no radios etc.). Plus, it’s expensive, as 10-20% of their income goes towards kerosene, which powers most lanterns.Together, let’s transform & light up these hamlets in remote Orissa. This crowdfunding campaign aims to raise INR 1,49,000/.
Tax benefits of funding this campaign :
Where are Gunjibadi and Manikeshwar in Orissa?
Located a good 6 hours from Bhubaneswar this is a area that is forested , hilly with a significant tribal population. It is fair to say its remote and an area that can benefit from your funding as the basic needs of people are not met .

Together let’s light up these hamlets in Orissa! All it takes is a donation of INR 835 from you!
How does it work?
We are looking at solar-powered solutions to bring light to remote villages in rural India. Currently, households with no access to reliable electricity rely on kerosene lamps or candles for light after sunset. These sources of light are dangerous, emit low quality light and are expensive as they have recurring costs. Solar panels are too expensive for these homes to both buy & install as these tribal villages are too remote. The simplest quick fix solution is to use solar lamps.
What are these solar lamps?

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream is a crowdfunding site and platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds.
You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on a FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
