The storm is the first super cyclone to form in the Bay of Bengal since 1999. AMPHAN devastated the Sundarbans, a mangrove area around the India-Bangladesh border home to four million people on Wednesday afternoon, before moving north and north-eastwards towards Kolkata and other districts of W.Bengal. The citizens had to bear the brunt of the Cyclone with winds gusting up to 185km/h (115mph). At least 72 people have died in West Bengal state.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the devastation in Kolkata, the state capital, was "a bigger disaster than COVID-19". "Area after area has been ruined," Ms.Banerjee was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India news agency "I have experienced a war-like situation today.
Coronavirus restrictions have been hindering emergency and relief efforts. COVID-19 and social-distancing measures made mass evacuations more difficult, with shelters unable to be used to full capacity. There is a super urgent need for EMERGENCY SHELTER/RELIEF KITS for the displaced & affected people.

The kits impact the affected families instantaneously:
- The family gets almost all the materials it needs to sustain.
- They start rebuilding make-shift shelter with the tarpaulin sheets they receive in the Shelter Kit.
- The Shelter Kit provides the minimum support for the family which then helps the family in resettling themselves in due course.

Will we get to know the details of how the money was spent?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar. It will take from 2-4 weeks after that to get details of who the beneficiary was with details of them. Once we get this information from them we shall upload the picture of the beneficiary on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes up to 2-3 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to the NGO. The receipts will start getting processed about 3-4 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
