Khaleel is a 40-year-old father of three. He is a migrant worker and works in the textile/garment trade in Bangalore. He left his home at a tender age of 16 and has lived away from home since. He works, saves money, sends it to his family that includes his parents, his wife, and children back in W.Bengal. He worked in various parts of the country in different garment factories as a tailor. Khaleel is one among those millions of migrant workers who usually do not have any savings and are dependent on their weekly pay. Things have been hard for him as work wasn't regular due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
THEN CAME CYCLONE AMPHAN WHICH DESTROYED AND DAMAGED LAKHS OF HOMES AND HOUSEHOLDS IN W.BENGAL INCLUDING KHALEEL'S FAMILY. THIS CAMPAIGN IS TO HELP FAMILIES LIKE THIS. WE ARE RAISING INR 30000 PER FAMILY WHICH WILL HELP THEM FIX THE HOUSE, GET FOOD, SOME BASIC NECESSITIES AND HELP THEM TIDE OVER THIS CRISIS.
His family in West Bengal have suffered a huge blow on 20 May when Cyclone Amphan hit the South 24 Parganas district. Due to the impact of Cyclone Amphan, their houses have been damaged and their belongings washed away. Electric poles were uprooted by strong winds and the Cyclone has destroyed everything in its path.
The moment the cyclone hit, families managed to take shelter in a nearby government school and remained there for almost a week. Hundreds of families have taken shelter in nearby school buildings and other big buildings in those areas. They have been finding it very hard to move back to their houses as the heavy rain and strong wind persists.
They are left with little or no money and food as the breadwinners back in Bangalore have not been earning due to the lockdown. Khaleel's family is just one of such families who have to face this hardship.
These people are particularly from Pincode 743373 which comes under Bamankhali area which is located in South 24 Parganas district of the state.
A few have no place to live as their rooftops have been destroyed, walls have been damaged. Almost everyone lost their entire stock of ration which they had recently received from the Govt.
These people are usually daily wager workers and rebuilding their homes has proven to be a very arduous task. While relief from the government is imminent, it might reach them only after a few months.
HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR 15 SUCH FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY CYCLONE AMPHAN.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
