THE PROBLEM:
MNJ Cancer Hospital for Children is a Telangana Government-run hospital providing treatment and care for children suffering from Cancer. This is the only hospital in the state providing free treatment for children suffering from cancer.
In our conversations with Dr Sudha Sinha, Oncologist, we understood that the hospital does not have enough money for all the necessary equipment, medicines, and treatment. This financial issue has been further worsened by the coming of the CoronaVirus and the staff is frantic.
Children undergoing cancer treatment have very little immunity and can easily fall prey to illness. COVID-19 has further made things worse for these children as any infection due to COVID can lead to life-threatening situations. All the patients and the hospital staff should be extra careful to ensure they are healthy, very safe, and most certainly, not infected by COVID-19. But can the patients or the hospital afford this extra expense? Definitely not!
90% of the funds raised will be utilized at the MNJ HOSPITAL in HYDERABAD and 10% will be used at the KIDWAI HOSPITAL in Blr (which has a similar situation).
THE SOLUTION: So what are we doing?
This campaign of mine aims to raise funds to provide PPE KITS, N-95 masks, Sanitizers, Liquid Dettol soap, etc that can be used by the staff, kids and will help keep the Pediatric wards and the kids safer. The cost of doing this for a month is estimated at INR 100000. Help me raise much more than that. Together we can keep these children suffering from cancer safer and help them recover faster.
Read more details below to understand exactly what we are giving.
Children undergoing cancer treatment have low immunity and are at risk of getting COVID-19 even with simple interaction with his parents or even the hospital staff who could be asymptomatic carriers. This could be life-threatening for them and all hopes to recover and go back home and play with friends will be lost.
All the patients and the hospital staff should be extra careful to ensure they are healthy & safe. But due to the lack of funds, not just the patients, but even the hospital staff are currently working without adequate protection. The hospital has not been able to procure basic COVID safety equipment such as N95 masks, Alcohol-based Sanitizers, and Liquid Soaps and the patients are unable to afford to buy these supplies themselves thus making them all high risk.
COST OF A SUPPLYING ALL THE PPE KITS/ HYGIENE PRODUCTS IS JUST INR 100000 PER MONTH.
A bulk of the funds will be used to provide safety kits to the MNJ Hospital, Hyderabad & the rest will be used at the Kidwai Institute, Bangalore. IMPACT is an NGO in Hyderabad which will execute this in Hyderabad while Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar will help with the execution in Bengaluru.

PATIENTS AT THE MNJ PEDIATRIC CANCER WARD
ABOUT ME
I am PRANAV PULA, Grade 4 & a student at the International School of Hyderabad (ISH).
In our conversations with Dr. Sudha Sinha, an oncologist at the MNJ Cancer Hospital for Children, we understood that the hospital does not have enough money for all the necessary equipment, medicines, and treatment. This financial issue has been further aggravated by the COVID-19 crisis.
I strongly felt that I must do something about this. We need to come together and make the world safer for them. The first step was to make their wards and environment at the hospital safer and cleaner with much needed protective gear (N-95 masks) and sanitizers/ liquid soaps.
Please fund this campaign generously and let us do our bit to help these children.

ABOUT THE NGO PARTNERS:
ABOUT IMPACT
IMPACT is an NGO based in Hyderabad. It was formed in 2008 as a non-governmental organization to improve access to quality cancer care and treatment for children with cancer. Our holistic, multi-faceted approach to treatment is based on the reality that a child requires an entire ecosystem of care in order to properly receive and benefit from cancer treatment. For example, almost 50% of children abandon care in the middle of their treatment due to factors external to the actual medical care provided. This is most often due to the lack of family support and insufficient funds. Our comprehensive care model addresses all these factors and strives to provide optimal care with the highest cure rates.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream is a crowdfunding site and platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on a FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
