I am Sunil Singh, better known as SUCURI. I am a Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian martial art) instructor based in Bandra, Mumbai. My journey started at a very young age with martial arts like Taekwondo and Judo. I came across Capoeira for the first time in my teens and I never looked back. A high level of Capoeira has seamlessly integrated itself into my lifestyle. To add to this, I'm professionally trained with a high level of expertise in many other forms of fitness, martial arts, gymnastics and movements.
These unprecedented times have really given me some perspective on who I am, what the idea of community truly means. What I've understood is that what you open your heart out to connects to you and you connect right back to it. Whether it is a plant you water, an animal you rescue, an individual you help, a village you embrace, or a race you support.
My heart has been connected to this remote village, Katwan, Maharashtra (near Mahabaleshwar) with its 55 indigenous families who live only on hope and no means to support themselves even after the lockdown. I've made two trips last week carrying essential supplies & want to give them RATION KITS.
I invite you to be a part of this endeavour, to open your heart out to these people who are in need.
The supplies we have provided will suffice another two weeks so I aim to support these 55 families for 2 months. The cost of a ration kit for a month is approx INR 1000. This works out to approx 1.1L INR for all the families. Any funds raised beyond the goal will be used to provide clothing, footwear, etc. to these families.
