It's rightly said that every cloud has a silver lining. During the tough lockdown phase as we all stayed home, the Earth had started to heal, how clear the sky was and how fresh the air was. Come winters and we might get to see the toxicity of the air rise again.
'Save Aravali', is a volunteer group working for the betterment of Aravalli. Apart from various significant activities carried out by them, last year they did afforestation on a 3-acre land. This year they plan to extend the forest area by another 5 acres near Pali Bani on Gurgaon-Faridabad road This is in collaboration with the Haryana forest department who has provided the land. The area near to Pali Bani on Gurgaon-Faridabad road is being aforestated.
This year it is planned to sow 2.5 lac seeds, and seeing the past trends, 87,500 trees are expected to survive. The forest would compose of all native trees such as Babool, Pasaindu, Amla, Imli, Goolar, Sheesham, Seeras, Peepal, Pilkhan, Neem, Desi papdi etc. Due to the shortage of funds, the activity beyond land preparation has been paused.
The seeds need to be sown before monsoon sets in, which is the first week of July. While the seeds have been purchased, funds are required for upkeep. Gardeners & care caretakers will be hired to maintain the land. Your support will help create a sustainable green belt for decades to come.
IT COSTS INR 3000 PER DAY TO MAINTAIN A 5 ACRE LAND. THIS WILL INCLUDE SEED GERMINATION, WATERING, WEEDING, PROVIDING COMPOST, PROTECTION AGAINST WILD ANIMALS.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
