The GOS Mary Clubwala Jadhav School in EGMORE, Chennai was started in 1968 with the aim to provide education and all-round development to underprivileged girls. The school presently has about 500 students. Supporting both English and Tamil mediums, the school educates girls from the neighboring areas and 45 destitute and orphan girls of the GOS Seva Samajam Girls Home (that is on-campus). It has classes from Grade 1 to 12.
This is a government-aided school until Grade 10. After this, students do not receive any support. Even during the COVID-19 crisis, classes for Grade 11 & 12 are being taken through WhatsApp & other online media. The funding from this campaign will help the girls of the Samajam Girls Home & the students of Grade 11 & 12.

ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Sunantha Prakash. I am 15 years old and a Grade 11 student at CPS GLOBAL, ANNANAGAR, CHENNAI.
I just hate the fact that a child cannot get educated just because she/he cannot afford school fees. How much would it hurt the child when she sees other kids walking around with school back, boarding a bus? It's an unnecessary pain if you ask me. Education is mandatory for everyone regardless of their standard in society.
ABOUT THE NGO - GUILD OF SERVICE
Established in 1923, Guild of Service is one of the oldest social service organizations in India. The primary focus of the organization is education to all. Working in diverse areas such as general and vocational educational, home for the destitute, mentally and physically differently-abled, health, welfare, and rehabilitation; the Guild of Service reaches out to the economically weaker sections of society especially children and women.
It spearheads and co-ordinates the progress and performances of over 22 units and projects in Chennai and 16 affiliates spread across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. The affiliates are independent entities, which share the vision and mission of the Guild of Service.
Over the last 97 years, the various projects of the Guild have benefitted lakhs of children, women, and differently-abled from the economically backward sections of society by providing them suitable assistance to make them responsible and financially independent citizens.
- Education is the main focus of the GOS - good quality and multi-dimensional education as it is the only way to make the underprivileged children become confident, self-reliant, and financially independent thereby breaking the cycle of poverty.
- Most children are first-generation school-goers from below poverty line families. And many of them work part-time after school hours to help their families as newspaper/ milk delivery boys, flower sellers, etc.
- We cover the entire gamut from:
- Formal and non-formal education at the pre-school and school level
- vocational training and job-oriented skill development programs
- Training and education for special needs children-Special schools
- Train the trainer – B.Ed programs (regular and for special education)
- The first school of the Guild of Service was started in 1950 at the Seva Samajam Children’s Home, Pallipatu with less than 10 children. (Senior Sishya students visit this school as part of social work under SUPW.)
- At present, there are over 3500 students studying across the Guild of Service schools.

TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the NGO is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is accepted too.
FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from Guild of Service (this takes between 2 to 3 months usually after the funds are raised & transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign and will be in a format like the one below. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an SMS and EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about which child benefitted. That's transparent right.
The below image is an example of the FEEDBACK FORMAT that we will be shared with all my funders.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
