THE PROBLEM

Congenital heart disorders are ailments that affect children at birth and at a young age. According to experts, one in every hundred children suffers from a heart ailment.  Heart surgeries performed on children cost typically between INR 2.5L to 5L depending on the case and complexity. This makes it hard for parents from low-income communities to be able to give their children a healthy life.

 THE SOLUTION

The  B.J Wadia hospital for children that is located at Parel in Mumbai are performing these surgeries at a much much lower cost of between 60000 INR to 1.5L INR depending on the complexity. Grants and other donors and subsidies from paid surgeries will take care of part of the costs. We need just INR 30000 to make surgery happen. It is Asia's biggest paediatric charitable hospital.

HELP RAISE INR 30000 AND SAVE A LIFE.

The money raised will be given directly after the campaign ends to the B J Wadia Charitable Hospital - Mumbai. Once the money is given to the hospital they will use it to save the life of a poor child and share the details with me. I shall then send you an update about the child we have saved so that you know where your money has gone.

CASE STUDY

ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN

Hi, I am Jay Gandhi and I am a grade 8 student at Hill Spring International School, Tardeo, Mumbai.

I have undertaken this campaign because I believe this is an initiative that honestly transforms the lives of women in rural India. Carrying pots of water on their head, every day, for a lifetime is an age-old practice of carrying water from water bodies to their homes in villages all across the nation. Women have to travel long distances making the task that much more difficult. It is not only back-breaking but time-consuming. Not only is fetching this water a tedious process but due to the ergonomics of the water pots, it also leads to a wastage of water. Them walking miles made the men of the villages lazy which really enraged me.

The Water Wheel solves this problem forever & gives them time, better health and less stress. Let us together help make their lives easier. The time saved is used for other chores and in a lot of cases leads to higher income as the time saved is put to good use by women to earn money. This impacts the household income and leads to a happier family.

Please support my campaign and let us together bring joy to more women in rural India.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The hospital also has the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the West of India. In its effort to provide universal healthcare, The hospital also acts as a tertiary level referral centre and is a nodal centre for "Clubfoot issues" in Maharashtra and is the only centre for Neonatal/Paediatric Dialysis in Western India.

TAX BENEFITS

Funding to this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the hospital is a registered trust & you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is also accepted.

FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET

To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from the hospital ( this takes between 1 to 2 months usually after the funds are raised & transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign and will be in a format like the one below. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about which child benefitted. That's transparent right?

FAQs

Will we get to know the details of the child who benefitted?

Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to  B J Wadia charitable hospital. It will take from 30-60 days after that to get details of who the beneficiary child was with details of her parents, her picture etc. Once I get this information from the team at B J Wadia hospital,  I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiary.

When do I get the receipts?

It takes a week after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred. The receipts will start getting processed about 2 to 3 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.

How does crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.

It’s s concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream is a crowdfunding site and platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on a FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.

Updates have been committed to after the campaign ends.
