You have the power to help the family of an underprivileged student, right from the comforts of your home!
The Akshaya Patra Foundation, prior to the lockdown in March, was feeding 1.8 Million children every school day across 12 states and 2 Union Territories in India. The organisation is now aiding the government to serve grains to the children as per the Mid-Day Meals (MDM) guidelines & additionally, families are also receiving through the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) with 5Kg of rice/wheat & 1Kg pulses(/daal) per family member. Therefore, the Foundation has initiated a plan to bridge the nutrition gap of our Mid-Day-Meal beneficiaries, and further boost immunity, hygiene and learning gap.
The Foundation carried a pilot programme in Bangalore to distribute immunity, hygiene and educational supplies through the ‘Happiness Kit’ initiative to MDM beneficiaries at their school premises, where student’s parents would pick up the kits.
THE AKSHAYA PATRA TEAM IN ACTION
ABOUT ME
My name is SRIDA MOTHAY. I am 14 years old and in Grade 9 at TCIS, Bengaluru.
As India continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the country through strict lockdowns, it has ravaged the vulnerable low-income communities. Schools being shut has directly impacted children around the country who depended on the Mid-Day Meal they received every day. As a result of COVID-19, experts say that the number of children who enrol in school will reduce & the numbers joining the unskilled labour force will drastically increase.
I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can also contribute to their well-being in our own small little way.
Let's come together and do our bit to help save the next generation.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
