WHAT IS KAAFILA?
The Shiv Nadar School Integrated Arts Festival, to be held on October 15th, 16th and 17th, 2020 is meant for students of Grades 9-12, is aligned with the promise to provide students with an environment that challenges them into discovering their talent and skills and to inspire the joy of learning by fostering a culture of creativity. The theme of the Festival is ‘Freedom: An Artistic Quest’’ – with an aim to explore the idea of freedom in the realm of physical confinement, and the search for the things that make us, us.
WHAT’S SPECIAL THIS YEAR?
This year’s festival, in a shiny new online avatar, explore the possibilities of collaborative work beyond geographical limitations presents artistic works that have crossed defined boundaries and begin conversations with practitioners in different fields to reimagine possibilities in the arts; recognising that art has no bounds, and a pandemic cannot shut us down!
HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED?
- Website - We are working on creating a user-friendly website for the festival where all the details about the artists, judges, events and workshops are going to be present. This website is going to play an important role since this festival is completely online. We will also have a secure mode for payment so that people can register easily.
- Judges - We would welcome talented artists from all over the country to conduct some of our workshops and performances. We are trying to provide a platform for various artists to showcase their talent and spread their talent to younger enthusiastic students.
- Facilitators - We will invite eminent artists as judges for our competitive events. We will call upon at least 2 judges for each event and
we’re looking at offering them a small honorarium. - Prizes - Winners of each event will be awarded a small prize.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU RAISE MORE THAN THE GOAL?
Share a Smile is an initiative on behalf of Shiv Nadar School Noida. We are planning to donate all the profits to the artists who will perform or conduct our workshops, or other artists in need during this pandemic. Our main intent is to give artists an opportunity in such a difficult time. We intend to raise money to cover our costs. We are a not-for-profit festival so all our profits will go as a donation.
EVENTS FOR THIS YEAR
ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Karman Singh. I am 16 years old and in Grade 11 at the Shiv Nadar School, Noida.
I believe that this crowdfunding campaign is beneficial because art is a vital part of our school life. But this is often neglected in pursuit of academics. This also gives an opportunity for the artists who have been left high & dry in the wake of the pandemic. They have lost their source of income. All forms of art facilitate self-discipline and the importance of teamwork, it hones decision-making skills but most importantly gives them a medium through which they can express themselves.
The unique feature of this festival is that it is completely student-led. Students have conceptualised, planned and organised this event from scratch as an extension of the school learning programme. We have conceptualised the event at an audacious global scale, and we need you to help us take this dream off the ground. There will be a range of performances, workshops, exhibitions, webinars, documentary screenings and other arts-related events.

FAQs
How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
