This campaign was started to raise funds for oxygen concentrators to help hospitals in Bengaluru. The campaign raised INR 6.5L. The additional funds raised will be used to set up a rural COVID isolation ward in Shanboganahalli.
THE PROBLEM
LACK OF RURAL COVID ISOLATION WARDS
Villages and small towns belonging to the Bannerghatta and Kaggalipura Gram Panchayats are severely affected by the pandemic due to poor medical infrastructure and human capital required to manage critical patients. At present the caseload at Bannerghatta is 30-35 per day and rising. There are over 1900 active cases, with 1 mortality per day.
INADEQUATE RURAL COVID ISOLATION CENTRES IS CAUSING AN ESCALATION IN THE NUMBER OF COVID CASES.
THE SOLUTION
Rotary Bengaluru Disha and A Rocha have together decided to establish the first ‘Rural COVID Isolation Centre’ exclusively for patients affected by Covid-19 in Shanboganahalli. This 50 Bed Isolation Center will serve as a first step in proactively addressing the rising Covid-19 crisis as well as to serve as a baseline to establish and run similar isolation centers in the area.
It costs INR 15L to set up a COVID isolation centre.
Each 50 bed Rural COVID Isolation Center, with a dedicated awareness program, educates the rural population about the pandemic and encourages them to take precautionary measures. All funds raised beyond the goal will help in the running costs of the centre like procurement of food and medical supplies.
Contributions to this campaign are being collected by the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar.
COMPLETED COVID INITIATIVE
Earlier this month, through this crowdfunding initiative, we acquired 10 Philips oxygen concentrators (5Litre capacity). The devices were delivered to C V Raman General Hospital. This was done with the initial 6L raised from this campaign. The funds raised beyond 6L will be used to set up the COVID Isolation ward.

FEEDBACK
To ensure that there is complete transparency we shall get a report with the details of who benefitted from the funding. This will then be posted on the UPDATES section of the campaign. As soon as we post an update, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. That's transparent right?
CAVEAT
For some reason, if we collect more funds than anticipated we will use the extra funds for RATION KITS (the estimated cost is INR 1500 for a family of four for a month) and distribute the same to daily wagers and others in need of the same. This will be done in Bengaluru.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
