This campaign is being done in partnership with Rotary District 3141 which has identified the need for Oxygen Concentrators in Mumbai.

THE PROBLEM

The number of Covid-19 patients has increased dramatically over the last 3-weeks in Mumbai city.

THERE IS A HUGE SHORTAGE OF OXYGEN AND THIS IS CREATING A NIGHTMARE FOR PATIENTS AND HOSPITALS.

Consequently, there is an increased delay in the hospitals' ability to help their patients and this, in turn, leads to their inability to admit more patients. Unavailability of oxygen is causing avoidable deaths and leading to a crisis situation.

THE SOLUTION

The Rotary District 3141 has identified a device to help solve this problem - The Oxygen Concentrator. They are easy-to-use devices that can be used to generate oxygen, are mobile, and will save the lives of critical patients and all those with low oxygen levels.

A 20L bridge loan/advance has already been arranged and orders for the Concentrators are placed.

Members of my Rotary club (The Rotary Club of Mumbai SOBO) and other Rotarians are all coming together to raise funds for these Concentrators. We are together aiming to raise INR 1.50 CRORE for 300 numbers of Concentrators. So please continue to fund my campaign even if it goes past its initial goal. Contributions to this campaign are being collected by the Rotary Club of Worli Bombay Trust.

Each device costs just INR 50,000 and will help save many lives.

An Oxygen Concentrator takes in air and removes nitrogen from it, leaving an oxygen-enriched gas for use by people requiring medical oxygen due to low oxygen levels in their blood. These devices will help eliminate the oxygen shortages at hospitals and improve their ability to treat patients in need. They are a safer, less expensive, and more convenient alternative to tanks of cryogenic oxygen or pressurized cylinders.

FOCUS AREA 2

There is also a need for High-Flow Nasal Cannulas (HFNC). When HFNC is used to deliver oxygen, the flow rates are much higher than can be achieved with a traditional nasal cannula. This results in greater delivery of prescribed oxygen into the lungs, and less entrainment of room air. Each device costs INR 6L and will significantly reduce the amount of time a patient needs to be treated.

ABOUT ME

My name is Ritika Agarwal I am a member of the Rotary Club of Mumbai SoBo

I am running a crowdfunding campaign to give life-saving Oxygen concentrators and High-Flow Nasal Cannulas (HFNC) machines to hospitals across Mumbai.

The number of Covid-19 patients has increased dramatically in Mumbai city and this has put a massive strain on the hospital infrastructure. There is a shortage of oxygen and this is creating a nightmare for patients and hospitals.

Giving Oxygen Concentrators will help eliminate the oxygen shortages at hospitals and improve their ability to treat patients in need. These are easy to use devices that can be used to generate oxygen, are mobile and will save lives for critical patients and all those with low oxygen levels.

Please support my campaign and together let's save lives.

FEEDBACK

To ensure that there is complete transparency we shall get a report with the details of who benefitted from the funding. This will then be posted on the UPDATES section of the campaign. As soon as we post an update, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. That's transparent right?

CAVEAT :

This campaign by Rotary Club of Mumbai SOBO aims to raise at least INR 25L alone collectively for this cause. For some reason, if we collect more funds than anticipated we will use the extra funds for CRITICAL MEDICAL EQUIPMENT & TREATMENTS and RATION KITS (the estimated cost is INR 900 for a family of four for a month) and distribute the same to daily wagers and others in need of the same. This will be done in Mumbai and extended across Maharashtra.

FAQs

Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?

Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to the ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY WORLI TRUST. We will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information we shall upload a report on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.

When do I get the receipts?

The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.

How does crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.

It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.

Updates have been committed to after the campaign ends.
