THE BACKDROP
I am Sameer Chowdhry, a retiree who lives in Chennai. I grew up in Delhi and it genuinely pains me to see the city of my childhood go through such trauma because of the 2nd wave of COVID! I live thousands of kilometres away and the only way I can make a difference is by doing this campaign and helping others. Together with your help I would like to raise funds for lifesaving oxygen and ration kits for those living in slums across rural Delhi.
The number of Covid-19 patients has increased dramatically over the last few weeks in the Delhi and NCR region. It's crippling and heart-breaking. The acute shortage of OXYGEN at health facilities and the loss of livelihoods because of restrictions are both causing trauma, loss of life.
I have tied up with the NGO -Responsenet. The approach of this campaign is to use the funds to help low-income families mainly. Kindly read on to discover how and fund very generously. I have funded my campaign too.
The funds will be used for 2 purposes:
PURPOSE 1 : PROVIDING OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS
These are easy-to-use devices that can be used to generate oxygen, are mobile, and will save the lives of critical patients and all those with low oxygen levels. An Oxygen Concentrator takes in air and removes nitrogen from it, leaving an oxygen-enriched gas for use by people requiring medical oxygen due to low oxygen levels in their blood. Each device costs just INR 50,000 and will help save many lives. The focus is to give these too small clinics, single doctor facilities who take care of citizens from slums, low-income areas and cannot dream of getting beds in regular hospitals. The campaign aims to raise funds for about 20-30 of these machines.
The 5 litre device costs INR 50,000 and the 10 litre device costs INR 70,000. The devices would be purchased as per availability.

PURPOSE 2 : PROVIDING RATION KITS
Families in low-income areas/ slums etc across NCR (they are mainly daily-wagers etc) have been severely impacted due to the second wave of the pandemic. They have no-income and are struggling to make ends meet. Food is their biggest need.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
