THE BACKGROUND :
THERE IS A HUGE SHORTAGE OF OXYGEN AND ICU BEDS AT THE GOVT HOSPITAL IN PANDAVPURA TALUK AND THIS IS CREATING A NIGHTMARE FOR PATIENTS.
We are currently facing the worst medical crisis in recent times with an acute shortage of OXYGEN and ICU Beds after the rapid surge in Covid-19 cases. People are suffering due to the non availability of ICU beds and oxygen shortage at the Govt hospital in Pandavpura Taluk, rural Karnataka. Patients from the surrounding villages depend on this hospital for treatment. They currently travel to Mysore which is 50km away and many lives are being lost due to the delay in treatment.
Through this campaign we aim to ease the Govt burden on enhancing the medical infrastructure during these trying times.
SOLUTION :
Through this campaign we aim to raise funds for providing oxygen concentrators and ICU beds for the Govt Hospital. The hospital currently has 3 ICU Beds. I aim to double the capacity with the funds raised.
The funds would be used for:
PURPOSE 1 : PROVIDING OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS
These are easy-to-use devices that can be used to generate oxygen, are mobile, and will save the lives of critical patients and all those with low oxygen levels. An Oxygen Concentrator takes in air and removes nitrogen from it, leaving an oxygen-enriched gas for use by people requiring medical oxygen due to low oxygen levels in their blood. Each device costs just INR 1,00,000 and will help save many lives.
The 10 litre device costs INR 1,00,000. (The devices would be purchased as per availability and prices on the date of purchase).
PURPOSE 2 : PROVIDING ICU BEDS
Currently, the ICU capacity at the hospital has only 3 beds. Plenty of patients do not get admitted on time which results in the death of many people. The cost of one ICU bed is INR 100000. By enhancing the capacity, the hospital would be able to treat many more patients. This will also reduce the need for patients to be rushed to Mysore for treatment.
Each bed costs INR 1,00,000. (The beds would be purchased as per availability and prices on the date of purchase).

We are Kavitha Hegde and Thea Hegde. We are running this crowdfunding campaign to give life-saving Oxygen concentrators and ICU beds to the Govt hospital in Pandavpura, Karnataka. Kavitha Hegde is into philanthropy and is part of the Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore. Thea Hegde is a grade 11 student at the Mallya Aditi International School.
The number of Covid-19 patients has increased dramatically and this has put a massive strain on the hospital infrastructure. There is a shortage of oxygen & ICU beds is creating a nightmare for patients and hospitals.
Giving Oxygen Concentrators and ICU beds will help eliminate the need for the patients to rush to Mysore for treatment. This will truly be a blessing as the hospital infrastructure at Pandavpura would improve drastically.
We have been closely working with Mr. Arvind Raghavan and the Balabyreshwara Trust for various social causes.

ABOUT THE TRUST
A charitable trust known as “SHRI BALABYRAWESHWARA EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE TRUST” was instituted in the year 2010 by Arvind Raghavan, an Advocate by profession with other young philanthropists from Bangalore City.
The main aim of this trust is to provide for basic amenities and facilities and upgrade, compliment and supplement those already provided for by the Government in primary, and high schools and junior colleges in rural areas of the State of Karnataka. The object of the trust is to ensure that children studying in government and other schools in rural areas who mostly come from families below the poverty line are provided with basic amenities and facilities and a decent educational environment.
TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as SHRI BALABYRAWESHWARA EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE TRUST is a registered NGO & you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is not accepted. Funding from Indian passport holders is accepted.
FEEDBACK
To ensure that there is complete transparency we shall get a report with the details on how the funds have been used. This will then be posted on the UPDATES section of the campaign. Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to the SHRI BALABYRAWESHWARA EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE TRUST. We will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information we shall upload a report on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert & can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do I get the receipts?
The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
