THE BACKGROUND
This is Guddi and her husband Sanjay Chauhan who live in the slum areas of Colaba, Mumbai. They are parents to one daughter who lives with her husband and two sons who live with them. Guddi is a domestic help who has not been able to earn much due to the pandemic and its lockdowns.
Her husband lost his job last Feb before the pandemic hit due to a paralytic attack. He has not been able to work and his medical expense keeps mounting. This past year, Guddi's previous employers gave her INR 2000 per month, but that income has also stopped. She has exhausted her little savings for her husband's medication. For the last six months, both of them have not been able to eke out an earning, so she has not been able to buy medicines either. Her husband's health is deteriorating and she can barely manage food for her family.
To make things worse, the cyclone Tauktae has completely destroyed their house.
This campaign aims to help Guddi put food on her table, get medicines for her husband and rebuild the destroyed parts of her house.
ABOUT ME
I am ARYAN DEOSKAR, I am a second year student at FLAME University.
Guddi was my domestic help when I used to live in Mumbai. Her current situation is extremely dire and I would like to alleviate her suffering in whatever way possible. The financially disadvantaged bear the brunt of tragedies like the pandemic and cyclone.
For Guddi and Sanjay, their only respite was their home which has also been destroyed. INR 3L will help Guddi and Sanjay have a safe shelter again and ensure Sanjay's medicines are available. Please support my campaign and let us together bring light into the lives of this family.
THEIR NOW-DILAPIDATED HOME
The heavy winds have ripped off the sheet roofing, leaving them exposed to the harsh weather. This is especially dangerous given the fact that Mumbai monsoons are around the corner. Rains have also destroyed the structure itself. In this condition, the house is very dangerous to live in, but Guddi and her family have nowhere else to go.

FAQs
How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
