Sole Plates ®
Sole plates (Patented): What makes MURTLE durable, versatile and unique in addition to the CORK material are the sole plates. The conventional modular footwear use either velcro or Magnets to achieve interchangeability. Their life reduces over time as they come in contact with water and dust repeatedly. The "Sole plates" are made of ABS plastic which is highly durable and wear-resistant for a very long duration. The plates employ threading mechanism which is as reliable as ISRO's rocket launch. The engineering team has considered for all the linear/ tangential and shear stress a sole plate faces and then zeroed down on all the values. We still continue to test, so that we deliver nothing but the best!
The materials never imagined before can now be used on a footwear. Silk, Jute, wool are something which can now possibly go on footwear. We will open a design guideline for artists to design straps and contribute to the ecosystem. Some models also support bidri & copper artists who can make motifs to be used as embellishments on the footwear.
MURTLE is made with completely natural materials and processes supporting sustainable fashion & design. The idea is to reduce waste whilst keeping pace with changing footwear trends. moreover, the changeable straps help reduces the material consumption by a whopping 70%. The plan is to finally produce these in Adilabad, Telangana, one of the most backward districts of the country. This gives employment opportunities to the locals and tribal population there.

The straps are hand cut, stitched and hand assembled. The leather is hand dyed with sustainable vegetable dyes and the fabrics are sourced from the rural village of Mangalgiri in AP supporting rural weavers, artisans, and grass root workers.

We do not have a return policy. Since we are crowdfunding it and doing this at a breakthrough price we cannot afford a return policy. Refer our size chart to ensure you select the best fit!
If the product is received damaged, you will have 48 hours to contact us and book an exchange. Post the 48 hour period, we will not be in a position to accept exchange requests.
