Vivek Patil was a good friend and a work colleague to many of us. He was chirpy, enthusiastic, full of ideas and a helping hand to many. Vivek is survived by his wife Mayuri (who is a working mother), and two school-going daughters, Vedanti (Grade 12) and Kimaya (Grade 6) aged 17 and 11 respectively. They reside at Kandivali East in Mumbai.
He was a colleague of ours and worked with many of us at companies like Pepsi, M Swipe, HDFC and ICICI bank. Reliance Jio Money, Mattel etc.
The least we can do as colleagues, friends and fellow human beings is give a little so that together we make a big difference to his family. The funds we are raising will possibly be enough to help the family for a year and will be used mainly for the kids education and other costs. So please continue funding till the last day irrespective of the amount we raise, as the more we collect the more breathing space the family has financially.
He succumbed to COVID a few weeks ago at the Hiranandani Hospital in Powai, Mumbai.
ABOUT VIVEK PATIL
Pic: Late Vivek Patil
Vivek was an extremely kind and considerate man and had helped many in their fight against Covid. From helping people with food, finances and logistics to arranging Oxygen concentrators for people he barely knew, he had done it all. Vivek went to great lengths in his efforts at keeping patients battling the Covid-19 virus comfortable in their homes. He would personally make sure the patients are receiving all their meals. Vivek was also providing delivery assistance to those that were quarantined and unable to leave their house.
Vivek’s generous nature made him risk his life so that other people would not have to suffer. It was rather unfortunate that he contracted the virus. He was hospitalised on the 11th of May, 2021 and admitted to the Hiranandani Hospital, Powai. He kept us hopeful of his recovery, fought valiantly but unfortunately succumbed to the illness on 18th May 2021.

Vivek’s family has lost the battle on both fronts which is his life and a brighter future for them. We all dream when we live but the dreams don’t die along with us, dreams do live on. He still dreams on through the eyes of his family and his dreams are not too unrealistic either. Proper education for his children and a little support for his wife and family is what we aim to achieve through this initiative. The funds raised will be sent to the account of his wife Mayuri.
IN SUMMARY
The dignified human being that Vivek was, he would have loved to contribute and enable better lives for others in a similar situation. Let us all do our bit and give his family the support they deserve. Our little support will make a big difference to Mayuri, Vedanti and Kimaya. It will help his daughters with their schooling and help make these young teenagers become capable, independent, and sensitive adults. They would have it in their DNA to give it back to the society that supported them once.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
