Pavithra is a young 28-year-old girl who has graduated with a Bachelors in Commerce degree. She has been suffering from kidney failure for 5 years now. She has now been diagnosed with Stage V, Chronic Kidney Disease. Pavithra has been admitted to Ramaiah Hospital, Bangalore, Karnataka. The doctors have said that Renal Transplantation Surgery is necessary to save her life. Her condition is deteriorating and her family cannot afford the expenses.
Pavithra has to be on dialysis treatment twice a week. She has been doing this treatment for 3 years now. The doctors have immediately asked her to undergo surgery as she does not have the strength to withstand the daily treatment.
Pavithra's family includes her parents and her younger brother, Santhosh. Her mother is the only earning person in their family who works as a house help. Pavithra's father was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had gotten operated on 8 years ago. He has been bedridden ever since. Her brother, Santhosh is 20 years old and without a job due to the pandemic.
Pavithra's mother is the kidney donor for her daughter's surgery. The family has exhausted all their finances in her treatment over the past few years and now the family is left with no money to take care of Pavithra and the family.
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall post updates on the UPDATES section of the campaign. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an SMS and EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about the progress and how the funds are being used.
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation and you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
