Children from low-income homes have faced a lot of challenges due to the pandemic as many of their parents have lost their jobs and are in extreme financial stress. They are unable to afford rations or blankets to protect themselves from the harsh winter. There is an urgent need to support the families with these essentials.

My friends and I, from The Shri Ram School (TSRS), Aravali have taken it upon ourselves to support these children and their families in every way we can. We aim to give them rations that will last them a month, two good-quality blankets to protect them from the harsh winter, books for school and stationary. This will give them the much-needed comfort, boost their health and ensure that they do not have to dropout of school. Each kit costs just INR 1500.

My name is NAYONIKA MATHUR. I am 13 years old and in Grade 8 at TSRS, Aravali.
Many families have lost their source of income during the pandemic and are in grave financial stress. They are unable to provide food for their family and sending their children to school is a challenge.
While we are home in the warmth, eating what we like and throwing a fuss about what we don’t like, these kids don’t get that option. They eat what they have or they go hungry. Their meals aren’t as filling or nourishing because they don’t have enough.
Through this campaign, we aim to help them by giving them a kit that contains rations for a month, blankets, books and stationary. Each kit costs just INR 1500. This will help give them comfort, improve their health and boost their attendance.

Niriksha Trust is a non profit society registered under the societies registration act of 1850. The trust believes that quality education is not only a fundamental right of every child but a medium that can empower the youth. Through the Pathshala initiative, the focus is to provide remedial/after-school classes to underprivileged children who attend government schools. 50+ students benefit from this. This initiative has transformed lives and impacted families positively.
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as NIRIKSHA CHARITABLE TRUST is a registered and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of IT act. Funding from those with foreign passports is not eligible.
