THE BACKGROUND
Raj Kumar Mitra is 48-years old and he resides in Kolkata. He has worked with Reliance Communications Ltd in South Bengal and Kolkata. His last assignment was with Outlook Media in Delhi. He is currently not working due to his deteriorating health condition.
Raj has been suffering from Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) and Hypertension, since 2016. Raj has now reached the End Stage of this Renal Disorder. Both his kidneys are having multiple cysts which are very enlarged in size. His kidneys are slowly loosing their functional capabilities. It has reached stage 5 which is the end stage of this renal disease. Consulting doctors have recommended to start the process of dialysis before opting for kidney transplant (within the next 60 - 90 Days).
The total cost of treatment is INR 36L.
About 30% of the required funds would be self-funded by Raj and 25% will covered by insurance. This crowdfunding campaign aims to cover the shortfall of INR 15L which is critical to start treatment.
The hospital in which the treatment will be done is being finalised. The decision will be made between ILS Hospital, NH Rabindranath Tagore Hospital and Woodlands Multi-Speciality Hospital in Kolkata.
The least you can do as friends and fellow human beings is give a little so that together we can make a big difference to Raj's life. The funds we are raising will be enough to help pay for his treatment. So please continue funding till the last day, irrespective of the amount we raise, as the more we collect the more costs are covered.
