Today, education is seen as a mere means of livelihood. The basic principles and values needed in life are neglected. The best mentor to humanity is an education that gives self-motivation, self-direction, and self-correction.
It is the most powerful tool of humanity. Education prepares us for life and moulds us into well-rounded individuals. This fosters a golden era referred to in the Indian Puranas as Satya Yuga and when this education is neglected, it propels us to pralaya or destruction.

The team at the Vedanta Wisdom Trust in Mumbai led by their Managing Trustee - Dr. Janki Santoke is building the World’s First Vedanta University that will educate students on “How to Live Life” as enshrined in our great ancient scriptures; Vedanta. The Vedanta Wisdom University is being proposed for imparting the right education and to teach students the art of balanced living.
Dr. Janki Santoke studied with Swami Parthasarathy for many decades. She also holds a Ph. D in Philosophy. She is key in envisioning the Vedanta Wisdom University. Her motive is to encourage the younger generation to live a productive and happy life by following the principles of Vedanta.
The proposed university will be constructed on a 25-acre property in Raigad district, Maharashtra. The university will impart liberal education. Students will be trained to be life-ready, not just career-ready through fully residential undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs. The UG and PG programs are designed by experts based on the Vedanta system of education. Diploma, short-term courses, and certificate courses are also offered.
The university will have multiple classrooms, an AV room, 250-seater auditorium, yoga room, sports facilities, gym, amphitheater, hostel block for 200 students, admin block, and a large water body. The university will be eco-friendly with its own waste disposal system, solar panels, etc.

The research and infrastructure at the university will meet international standards. Vedanta University is designed to develop original thinking and seeks to become an international center of learning and research. Alumni can not only be teachers and torchbearers of Vedanta but can take up any occupation of their swadharma (own nature) such as entrepreneur, writer, politician, researcher, philosopher, etc. which requires the qualities they have imbibed. Students are trained in clearer thinking, cooperative endeavour, discipline, and resilience to deal with an ever-changing world.

I have undertaken this campaign because I believe that the right education is the foundation for life’s journey. I was fascinated by the approach of this first-of-its-kind university - THE VEDANTA WISDOM UNIVERSITY and the impact it will make.
I am a great believer and follower of the principles of Vedanta and Bhagavad Gita. I think it is very important to pass this on to future generations. Education today focuses majorly on being career-ready and not life-ready. It is very critical to teach youth these days to be a good human beings and do good for the world. I believe this university is a huge step in the right direction. The Vedanta Wisdom university will inculcate ancient Indian philosophy of life and living. The university will have both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in their 25-acre property at Raigad district, Maharashtra.
Brick by brick, let us come together and make sure that this world-class university is realized within our lifetimes. Let us ensure that the future of this world is in the right hands.
The Vedanta Wisdom Trust has been newly set up for education on Vedanta. It is a public registered charitable trust. The following are its primary activities:
1. Weekly sessions to study Vedanta.
2. Special events for the general public to create interest in Vedanta and show its relevance to life and living.
3. Courses in collaboration with universities and programs for corporate houses.
4. Proposed University offering degrees and conducting research.
Weekly sessions and special events have been conducted in the physical and virtual form for over 30 years by Dr. Janki Santoke. These are free and open to everyone.
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the NGO is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT Act. Foreign funding is NOT accepted.
