THE BACKGROUND
The pandemic has severely impacted the education of children from low-income homes. Since schools were closed, education has come to a standstill for many of them.
While “E-Learning” had became indispensable for children in urban areas, children in rural areas faced many challenges as they had no access to education due to factors such as lack of technological know-how, access to hi-speed internet, low digital literacy, unavailability of steady power supply and most importantly, lack of electronic devices. This resulted in children dropping out. Now that schools have reopened, they have forgotten what they once knew. There is an urgent need to provide remedial classes to help these children cope with their academics.
THE VIDHYA INITIATIVE
YATAN, an NGO based in Gurgaon is committed to providing after-school remedial programs for underprivileged children whose education has been impacted due to the pandemic through the 'VIDHYA' initiative. This will help children cope with their studies which they missed in the past year. These are underprivileged children who are enrolled in government schools (Grades 1-12). Community-based cluster classes with proper social distancing in Lucknow and Gurgaon.
The students are provided with free education, stationary, books and mid-day meals. This helps give them a bright future and get their families out of the vicious circle of poverty that plagued them for generations. This is being done in partnership with the NGO Yatan. The NGO has already educated 5000+ children in the last 7 years in Lucknow and Gurgaon and have given them a fresh lease of life.
IT COSTS JUST INR 9300 TO SUPPORT ONE CHILD FOR A YEAR.

THE IMPACT
ABOUT ME
My name is YAMINI SINGH. I am 16-years-old and in Grade 12 at Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think it is incredible to impact the life of a child who is not as fortunate as I am. Many families have lost their source of income during the pandemic and are unable to send their children to school. These children have not been attending classes for the last year. Many of them have forgotten the basics and are unable to cope with studies since schools have reopened .
Yatan Education Centre provides after-school remedial programs to make up for the education these students have missed in the past year. The NGO also provides a meal, education, books etc for free makes it impossible for parents NOT to send children to study. This will help bring them back to school and get them back on track. This will also help bring their families out of the vicious circle of poverty that plagued them for generations. The cost of providing after-school programs to a child for a year is just INR 9300 and will completely transform their lives.
Please support my campaign as a simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on a child's life. Let us together lend a helping hand and support these children.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation and you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
