THE BACKDROP
For children from underprivileged homes, going to school is a luxury. Many families prefer to send their children to work rather than to school. Most of them are unaware of the importance of education in one's life. Even if children attend schools, they do not have any access to notebooks, stationary, school bags etc. This results in them losing interest to study and attend classes.
Especially post Covid, there has been a greater need to support thousands of underprivileged children in rural Karnataka with learning essentials so that they get access to study materials and are able to focus better in academics.
Supporting these children would certainly bring about a meaningful change in their lives as well as in the lives of their families.
THE INITIATIVE
The Swavalambi Trust is committed to helping these children with learning kits. Each kit contains a set of notebooks, writing materials, geometry kit, charts, a small bag etc. In the case of children with disabilities, a separate set of materials will be provided.
The cost of each kit incl distribution is INR 1150.
The beneficiaries from this initiative will mostly be first generation learners. The kits will be distributed to children from low-income homes, girl students, children with a single parent and children with disabilities. The distribution will be done in Government school students at Harohalli, Ramnagar and Dodabalapur (Bengaluru rural) in rural Karnataka.

My name is JAYANTH KUMAR. I am a concerned citizen.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think it is incredible to impact the life of a child who is from a financially stressed home. For many of these parents sending their children to school is a luxury. They are unable to buy school bags, notebooks, geometry boxes, etc for their kids. They do not realize that these are critical in the educational journey of their children.
The cost of providing one learning kit is just INR 1150. The kit will include notebooks, pens, pencils, chart papers, a geometry box, a school bag, etc. This will have a huge impact on their education and also lead to greater interest in academics. This will also boost attendance. Please fund my campaign as a simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on a child's life.

Learning kits were distributed in Government schools in Bengaluru 3 years ago. Since there is a massive need for these kits, this initiative will be done this year as well.

ABOUT SWAVALAMBI TRUST
Swavalambi Trust, a Bengaluru based NGO is a voluntary, committed, dedicated organization for the inclusive development of poorest of the poor, marginalized and excluded groups of the society. With the above mentioned vision and mission, The trust has been officially registered on 13th of September 2011 with seven light minded, devoted, fully dedicated members contributing for the welfare of disabled people, poor children and women living in rural, semi urban and slum areas. There are also hundreds of volunteers involved and are actively contributing for the implementation of the various activities.
The proposed inclusive educational project will be a collective action on committed volunteers, dedicated individuals, community leaders, family associated with organisation, self-motivated teachers, and many others. For the last ten years, many activities in education, health, socio economic support have been implemented by the team. Persons with disabilities, underprivileged children, women-girls, socio economically poorer families have been benefited from various interventions.
TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as Swavalambi Trust is a registered NGO and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
FEEDBACK FORMAT THAT YOU GET
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from the NGO (this takes between 2 to 3 months usually after the funds are raised and transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign. As soon as an update is posted, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link on the email and you can read about which person has benefitted. That's transparent right.
FAQs
Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to Swavalambi Trust. It will take from 2 to 3 months after that to get details of fund use. Once I get this information from them I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes up to 2-weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to NGO. The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
