RADHA KRISH'S CAMPAIGN TO HELP COVID WIDOWS EARN A LIVELIHOOD.

CAMPAIGN TEAM
1) COVID has increased poverty levels and issues for the underprivileged.
2) Many poor families have lost the breadwinner and the widows often are not employed or do not have any skills to
earn money except for menial work.
3) Many women in economically poor families are keen to work and earn as the overall household
incomes have dropped.
4) All these families face a grim future financially.
5) There are thousands of such women ( widows plus those who need to earn more) in the districts of "Chennai" and
"Kanchipuram" districts who need assistance of some kind so that they can earn a livelihood and enhance their earnings.
Through this campaign, we aim to support such women and help them stand on their own feet and achieve financial independence.
This will have a cascading effect on the well-being of their families. They have CHILDREN and ELDERLY who depend on them.
THE SOLUTION
The Rotary Club of Guindy is committed to helping these women. The club plans to provide sewing classes to these women at the USHA training centres in Chennai and Kanchipuram and will also provide them with sewing machines upon completion of the training. Each woman would receive a kit consisting of a sewing machine and a stand.
They would then be able to set up a small business by building a customer base in their own locality stitching daily wear items like blouses, salwar kameez, frocks, etc.

I am doing this campaign to help women and give them a sustainable livelihood by providing them with sewing machines. This will completely transform their lives. The sewing machines would be given mainly to women who have lost their spouses to the pandemic and to women from underprivileged homes. This initiative will help them lead independent lives.
The fact that it costs just INR 8000 to impact a woman is fantastic. I was surprised to learn that with just this much, they can have a sustainable livelihood. Through this campaign, I aim to transform the lives of women and their families.

Rotary Club of Guindy is a vibrant 28 years old Club in the RI district 3232, Chennai, India. Our club was chartered in the year 1995 on 10th Jan. The club has 107 members of diverse professionals and classifications, and the average mean age is around 45 years, which makes our club the most vibrant and happening club in our Rotary district. Over the last 28 years, the club has raised over INR 10 Crores which has impacted initiatives in education, livelihoods, health, covid relief, rural infrastructure, etc. in and around Chennai city. Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as Rotary Guindy Trust is registered and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT act.
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to Rotary Guindy Trust. It will take from 60 to 120 days after that to get details of who the beneficiary was with details of them. Once I get this information from them I shall upload the picture of the beneficiary on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.
It takes up to 2-3 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to the NGO. The receipts will start getting processed about 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
