Kudumula Lokeshwari is a Para Athlete from Saroornagar, Telangana. She has won several medals in discus and shotput in the state and national levels. She is the first Telangana woman to win medals in the F-37 category. She has qualified to represent India at the Wheelchair and Amputee World Games 2022 to be held at Portugal. It's a huge opportunity and she will make India proud. This campaign is being done by my schoolmates and me to help support her with the high expenses of participating in the competition as she hails from a very humble family.

THE BACKGROUND

Kudumula Lokeshwari was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 10. She was partially paralysed (spastic hemiparesis) on the right side of her body. She has a disability of 74%. This resulted in her not being able to participate in what she enjoys the most - SPORTS.  She also faced a lot of problems in school and in her community as people would sideline her for her disability. 

After Grade 10, she discontinued schooling because her father met with an accident and her mother's salary was not sufficient to support their expenses.  She worked 2 jobs a day to support her father's treatment but unfortunately could not save his life.  

She got to know about para-sports in 2016 and started training for discus throw. She has won 6 Medals- 3 Bronze, and 3 Silver in shotput and discus throw. She is now selected for the IWAS WORLD GAMES to be held in Portugal from 23rd to 29th Nov 2022. She needs support to be able to participate and make her dream of winning a medal come true.

ABOUT ME

My name is Veda Raju Prapurna. I am a Grade 12 student at the Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad.

I have undertaken this campaign because I think being able to help such an inspiring person is an honour. Lokeshwari is a Para Athlete from Saroornagar, Telangana. She has qualified to participate in the Wheelchair and Amputee World Games 2022 in Portugal from 23rd to 29th November 2022 for discus throw and Shotput. She needs 2.9L to participate in the event and make India proud. She hails from a very humble family and will not be able to participate in the competition without our support.

This campaign is being done by my schoolmates and me to help support her expenses of participating in the competition. Please fund my campaign as a simple act of kindness on your part can have a profound impact on her performance and life.
