THE BACKDROP
For children from underprivileged homes, going to school is a luxury. Many families prefer to send their children to work rather than to school. Most of them are unaware of the importance of education and co-curricular activities in a child's life. Most of the children go to a government school, where they do not get exposure to explore different co-curricular activities and develop hobbies. Due to this many students who have real potential in art are deprived of exploring this.
Through this campaign, I aim to impact and help children studying at the Government Adi Dravida Welfare School, Chrompet in Chennai by giving them art kits and teaching them art. This will help feed creative development and facilitate emotional expression in underprivileged children.
THE INITIATIVE
Through The Kana Project, I have been teaching about 80 children in Grade 8 at The Adi-Dravida Government School at Chrompet, Chennai a few art techniques. This aims to help underprivileged children dream and express themselves. I am now raising funds to provide them with art supplies to help them develop an interest in art. Their creations will be showcased in the exhibition in April 2023.
EACH ART KIT COSTS JUST INR 450.
I have had a wonderful experience so far teaching children who are very enthusiastic to learn. In this process, I am also learning experientially, the joy of giving and helping others. I am grateful to the children for cooperating with me and making this a cohesive and interactive experience.

ABOUT ME AND THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Navya Ramchander. I am 15 years old and in 10th grade at the PSBB School in Chennai.
I have had a passion for art since a very young age, and I went to art classes at an institution called Global Arts. I am currently pursuing a diploma course with the London Arts College.
I am running this crowdfunding campaign to help the Grade 8 students of The Adi-Dravida government school at Chrompet, Chennai, India, to learn the art and to exhibit their talents. Through this initiative, these students who never had the opportunity to see their creative side will be able to find a way to express their emotions and also know their potential. This will help them to dream and guide them through a path to achieve it.
Each Art kit will cost just INR 450 and will help bring smiles on their faces. Fund INR 4500 and impact 10 kids. It is my endeavor to bring art to these children and make a difference in their lives.
