I am an architect by profession and have been practising in the field for the past twenty years and live in Hyderabad.
I am crowdfunding a few paintings of mine (I have never done crowdfunding before) & attempting to also raise money to give sight to people who suffer from Cataract for every painting pre-ordered. I am doing this in partnership with an NGO called the SANKARA EYE HOSPITAL in Chennai. For every painting that is pre-ordered, I will donate a sum of 1000 INR to the hospital. They will conduct free eye surgery for a patient and share the information with me. Together we will be able to change their lives.

To pre-order the painting, you like simply select the relevant painting from the REWARDS section. You will then be asked to register on the platform and pay either with a credit/debit card or through internet banking or Paytm.
PAINTING SPECIFICATIONS:
All the paintings are poster colours on paper. They do not come with any frame & will be shipped to the address that you provide when you pre-order them. The paintings shall be shipped out within 5 -8 weeks of the crowdfunding campaign ending.

ABOUT ME:
I am an architect by profession and have been practising in the field for the past twenty years.
I acquired my degree from the University of Mumbai and have been involved in both architecture and interior design projects in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and the United States.
I mostly grew up in Mumbai as my father was serving in the Indian Navy. I have always had a love for the arts since a very young age and would remember how I would spend hours sketching and painting. It’s no surprise it was my favourite subject in school. I would try to use my creative skills at home right from making handmade cards for my family on special occasions and even posters to adorn the walls of my bedroom. Even today I enjoy drawing up quick sketches for my client and it’s the stage of design I enjoy the most, putting my ideas on paper.
I love to bring creativity to all aspects of my life. Whether it’s admiring beautiful art or creating simple art, it’s definitely one of the favourite things to do.
However, the inspiration for this series is my ten-year-old daughter. We used to spend time drawing and making simple craft projects. She soon started to create beautiful artwork from the age of three. Looking at her art was just so refreshing and the childlike simplicity and vibrant colours were just very uplifting. It made me want to get back to what I loved the most.
So I got onto the drawing board and came up with these young girls in a vibrant setting. Each of them stands for something inspirational, reminding us about the wonder of life and how beauty lies within each of us. I think in any art form the most important thing is to spread joy. This project is even more special to me as I, through my work will hopefully not only spread joy but help those who are less fortunate than us.
ABOUT CATARACT
Cataract is one of the major causes of blindness in India. More than 12 Million elders are visually impaired and most among them cannot afford treatment. 80% of the 12 Million visually impaired in India can be cured by a simple operation. Majority of the affected people live in rural areas while most of the eye care services and facilities are available in urban areas. Every year thousands of people among us lose their vision to cataract which is a completely curable condition.
ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
Sankara Eye Hospital is a state of the art, multi-speciality eye hospital located in Pammal, Chennai and has been functioning since 1997 as an exclusive eye care centre with a singular vision of providing high-quality care to all segments of society, rich or poor.
Every painting your order gives sight to one poor person who suffers from cataract. Once the campaign ends, regular updates will be posted to keep the funders abreast of the beneficiaries of the donations.
The names and addresses below have been blurred out on purpose as this is an example. For this campaign, I would get the "complete details of patients and their contact numbers". The below format is for INDICATIVE purposes.
Risks and challenges
-Unforeseen circumstances/Acts of God may cause a delay in shipping of the paintings.
-There may be a situation where a personal emergency or ill health may delay my ability to ship the paintings out in time.
FAQs
Will we get to know the details of the PEOPLE who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to me. It will take from 30 to 90 days after that to get details of who the beneficiary was with details of them. Once I get this information from the team at Sankara Hospital, I shall upload this in the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an email and SMS link to read details about the beneficiaries.
What are the crowdfunding charges?
Fueladream charges 6% as crowdfunding charges. There is a payment gateway fee of 3% plus a GST component of 1.62%.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes 2-3 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to Sankara Hospital. The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online.
