I am a passionate snowboarder from the village of Tangmarg, India. My journey on the slopes began at the age of three when my father introduced me to skiing, and later on, snowboarding became my true passion. The majestic ski slopes of Gulmarg in Kashmir became my second home and this was where I honed my skills. As I grew better my dreams grew bigger !!
I entered the world of snowboarding at a very young age and I learned the sport by myself. During the winters, I worked tirelessly as a snowboarding instructor in Gulmarg. It wasn't just a way to earn a living but it meant something much more for me. I became an instructor to achieve my dreams and contribute to my family's finances, covering college fees and household expenses during the winter months by teaching at Gulmarg.
I now aim to take part in the 2026 Winter Olympics and make India proud by winning a medal. To do that I need to train and travel and compete. This is an expensive sport at this level. I need to raise INR 30L to make it happen. Read my story and fund this campaign generously.
My journey as a snowboarder was an extraordinary thing that happened in my life. I have achieved national and state-level medals, including bronze and silver at the National Championships in Gulmarg in 2014, two-time National Champion titles in Manali in 2016 for Slalom and Giant Slalom, and clinching the top spot at the Khelo India Winter Games of 2021-22. I have a total of 14 medals and numerous certificates.

In my life, I had challenges, Injuries, financial struggles, and other sporting setbacks that have only fueled my determination to excel in snowboarding. I have a dream to represent India at the Winter Olympics, in 2026. To prepare for this prestigious event, I started my journey to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, USA, where I trained under the guidance of Thedo Remmelink, a veteran of the 1998 Winter Olympics. Snowboarding is relatively new in India, and the international level of training is not available here. Also, it is an individual sport so no international trainer will train in India.
The costs are huge for training, travel, equipment, and fitness. That is why there is a need for me to do a crowdfunding campaign.
I had already made a mark by participating in three international races in the USA, where I achieved an impressive 14th place.
Now, I am planning to train in Europe during the 2024-25 season and participate in several more races to further improve my skills and build the experience needed for Olympic success. So, I need all your support to make my Olympic dream a reality, and my expenses for the upcoming winter season in the US, including five months of training and participation in five races in the US and Canada, plus the prestigious World Cup Race in Canada.

I completed my B.PED (Physical Education) course from Ganderbal by working as a snowboarding instructor in Gulmarg, Kashmir in winter, besides practicing myself for Slalom and Giant Slalom races. I am a self-taught snowboarder and in order to compete internationally and finally in the Olympics, it is important that I get trained by an international-level trainer.
This kind of training is not available in India and I have to train either in the US or Europe. I was able to go to the US for training last year with support from the Span Foundation in Delhi. However, this year I need INR 30 lakhs for my five months of intense training and participation in races that take place in different cities in the USA and Canada.
