FACTS: Sandhya Suraksha is a new home started by Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT) to provide safe shelter and take care of 70 homeless elderly women. The costs incurred to take care of an elderly woman is just INR 8000 per month.
I have started this campaign to raise funds to bring joy to the lives of elderly women who are abandoned and need a home. INR 24000 can fund the stay, care and medical costs of one elderly destitute woman for 3 months. The more we raise the longer we can take care of them.
Read on to discover how. I am doing this crowdfunding campaign in partnership with NMT. The Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT) is a well-established and reputed not-for-profit NGO working for the wellbeing of the elderly since 1998 in Bangalore. NMT is striving to keep family bonds intact through innovative and community-based support systems for elders of all socio-economic groups.

ABOUT ME :
Hi! I’m Kausik Das and I’m a senior at Greenwood High International School at Bangalore. A few months ago, I found an elderly woman suffering from dementia lying on the streets, abandoned by her own children. This was a truly agonising sight for me. I couldn’t even fathom doing this to my own parents. It made me realise that further advancement was required when it came to elderly care in India.
I contacted the NGO Nightingales Medical Trust and was greatly impressed by their work when it came to dementia care as well as the social integration of the elderly. As a result, I wholeheartedly supported their initiative of building Sandhya Suraksha, one of the few homes dedicated solely to the care of destitute elderly women. The facility is clean and green, equipped with comfy beds and plenty of open spaces.
But Sandhya Suraksha can only become a true home for these women if they receive the love and care that they need. And in order to do so, we need your help.
With INR 24000, we can take care of one destitute woman for a total period of 3 months. I urge you to donate towards this cause. Your help will bring smiles upon the faces of these wonderful people.
COST SHEET :
The sheet below shows how the need for funding is just INR 8000 per woman per month. Help me raise INR 24000 or more and we can fund their stay for 3 months or more.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries
