THE BACKGROUND:
Citizen Welfare Association (CWA), Borivali (W), Mumbai, is an old-age home that has been a haven for elderly individuals, providing them with a nurturing and supportive environment as they navigate the golden years of their lives.
The center welcomes individuals above the age of 50 who are afflicted with any illness or ailment. Most of the residents are 65-80 years of age and will spend the rest of their lives here. The center can accommodate and take care of 110 elderly people. Currently there are approx 70 residents. Most of the residents are long-care residents while some are in need of temporary care or a short-term stay.
While the cost of accommodation, medicines, food, and care for the majority is taken care of by their families/ sons/daughters, etc.
There are over 26 residents without any support system whose entire cost per year needs to be borne and funded.
THE NEED AND THE IMPACT YOU CAN MAKE :
There are 26 residents like Shobha Shamrao Mestri (see story below) who need to be taken care of. The cost per month is INR 15000 only. This includes stay, medical care, food, clothes, and constant care.

My name is AYRA AGRAWAL. I am 16 years old and a Grade 11 student at Podar International School, Powai, Mumbai.
I am thrilled that I have this wonderful opportunity to help the elderly. They invest a lot in taking care of their children and need all the love, comfort, and care they can get in their old age. Unfortunately, circumstances have forced many of them to move to an old-age home. The Citizens Welfare Association - an NGO in Borivali is an old-age home that takes care of the elderly and gives them much-needed care and comfort. I believe that every individual deserves to age with dignity and respect.
The elderly face a lot of challenges in society. Many of them are also abandoned by their families - which is heartbreaking. The loneliness, neglect, and lack of resources deeply saddened me, and I knew I had to do something to make a difference. This campaign focuses on raising funds to take care of them.
I was also surprised to learn that all it takes is just INR 15000 to take care of them for an entire month. Usually, medical care is the most expensive element as they age. The INR 15000 includes their food, stay, clothes, medical care, etc.
I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can make a positive impact on the lives of these elderly citizens and allow them to live the rest of their lives with dignity and happiness. Let's come together and do our bit.

Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as the Citizen's Welfare Association is a registered NGO and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT Act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET:
To ensure that there is complete transparency I shall get a report from the NGO (this takes between 1 to 3 months usually after the funds are raised and transferred to them) telling me who benefitted from the funding. The details will then be posted in the UPDATES section of my campaign and will be in a format like the one below. As soon as I post an update, the platform will send an EMAIL alert to all the funders - i.e. to you. Click on the link in the email and you can read about which elderly residents got benefitted.

Will we get to know the details of who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to the Citizen’s Welfare Association (CWA). They will update you on the details of the beneficiaries as soon as possible. Once we get this information, we shall upload a report in the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiaries.
When do I get the receipts?
The receipts will start getting processed about 4 to 6 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
