THE BACKGROUND:
Situated in the heart of Uttar Pradesh, the capital city of Lucknow is home to a substantial population of migrants and urban poor, including construction workers, the homeless, and economically vulnerable youth. These individuals face daily hardships, often grappling with the scarcity of not getting enough to eat and the relentless challenges of hunger and homelessness.
Recognizing the pressing need, a community kitchen initiative has emerged as a beacon of hope. By providing regular and nutritious meals, this initiative aims to not only mitigate hunger but also improve their health and well-being.
A community kitchen in Lucknow can be a viable and effective solution to address the hunger problem, and providing meals at a subsidized amount will improve the quality of life of the people in the city.
HOW THE COMMUNITY KITCHEN WORKS:
The NGO, Ehsaas which is based in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow has started a community kitchen called Prabhu Kripa.
The community kitchen has a capacity of serving 500 people per day, it benefits the poor, the homeless, the street children, the construction workers, the sick, the orphans, and the economically weaker youth.

ABOUT ME:
My name is RAGHAV PRAKASH. I am a concerned citizen and I’ve undertaken this campaign to end hunger and to provide nutritional and affordable meals to those who live on the streets.
Many people are faced with the difficulty of a lack of access to regular, healthy meals. Numerous individuals in our community, through no fault of their own, find themselves without a stable home or enough resources to meet their basic needs. They face the harsh reality of having to choose between spending their limited funds on cooking essentials or going hungry.
It costs just INR 60 for a meal per day. They levy a charge of INR 10 per person for a meal to maintain the dignity and self-respect of the beneficiaries. So just INR 5000 will feed 100 people for one day.
The Prabhu Kripa community kitchen by the NGO, Ehsaas, aims to provide nutritional and healthy meals for an affordable price of INR 60. By offering them affordable and healthy meals, we can restore their belief in a brighter future and show them that compassion and care still exist in this world.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation and you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries.
