MORE ABOUT TERRY FOX :
At the age of 10, Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer. The disease’s progression led to the amputation of one of his legs above the knee. Fox soon learnt to run using an artificial leg. Later he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. His run, the Marathon of Hope, began in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on April 12, 1980. Fox covered up to 48 km per day. Fox passed the halfway point in eastern Ontario, but on September 1, 1980, chest pains forced him to stop just outside the city of Thunder Bay. It was soon discovered that the cancer had spread to his lungs, and he was unable to continue. By that time, Fox had covered 5374 km and had raised over 800 USD.
Despite undergoing numerous treatments, Fox died on June 28, 1981. Before his death, the government had made him the youngest ever Companion of the Order of Canada, and he was twice named Canadian of the Year. Terry Fox Runs, which are organized by the Terry Fox Foundation, are held annually in cities throughout Canada and other countries.

ABOUT ME AND THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Rehaan. I am 16-years-old and a Grade 11 student at the Canadian Intl School, Bengaluru.
Every year our school conducts the Terry Fox Marathon. I was very surprised to learn more about Terry Fox who ran so many kilometres even though he was diagnosed with cancer and had an amputated leg to spread awareness and to raise funds for cancer research.
This time I have also decided to be a part of this cause and help cancer research in India along with my classmates. Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) does great work in this field and with more funds they will be able to achieve much more in research. This will help treat rare cancer cases and save lives within India and also globally.
Every small contribution makes a difference, please support my campaign and let us save lives together.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding.
