In the heart of South Mumbai, specifically in Tadero, a fundamental right remains elusive: access to clean drinking water. Despite municipal water supply, our neighboring underprivileged communities face a critical issue -contaminated water.
Hutments and redevelopment societies struggle with inadequate handling and storage, leading to waterborne ailments. Research has revealed alarming levels of microbial contamination and pathogens in stored water, posing a significant threat to community health.
As I witness this harsh reality in my neighboring community, I'm compelled to act.
THE INITIATIVE:
To address this crisis, I've launched an initiative providing affordable, low-maintenance water filters to these communities.
My goal is to provide 100 water filters, improving the health and well-being of approximately 500 individuals.

Hi, I'm Dev Kapur, a Grade 12 student at Cathedral John Connon School, Mumbai. As a passionate science student, I'm driven to apply my knowledge to create a positive impact in my community. During my interactions with south Mumbai communities, I witnessed firsthand the struggles they face due to contaminated water.
This sparked my determination to find a solution. Through rigorous research and collaboration with local experts, I've developed a comprehensive plan to provide clean drinking water. My mission is to provide 100 filter units to south Mumbai communities, improving the health and well-being of approximately 500 individuals, reducing waterborne diseases, and promoting community engagement and awareness about water hygiene.
