Hair loss is a common side effect of radiation and chemotherapy which are critical for cancer treatment. Loss of hair can be devastating, affecting patients' confidence and self-image. In India, many patients delay or avoid treatment due to fear of stigma and societal judgment. The fear of being seen as 'different' or 'sick' can lead to feelings of shame, anxiety, and depression, further eroding their self-worth.
There is an urgent need to stem this alarming trend and encourage marginalized cancer patients across the country to avail treatment.
THE INITIATIVE
My friends and I are committed to ensuring that all cancer warriors lead normal lives. We have partnered with The Cherian Foundation to provide wigs to these patients who come from low-income homes. A wig is a perfect alternative for cancer patients who lose their hair during chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The wigs are of the highest quality keeping in mind the sensitive and delicate skin of the wearer.
The wigs will be distributed across 16 premier hospitals PAN India serving the disadvantaged.

A clinical study conducted by the Cancer Institute (WIA) Adyar, further reiterated that women wearing natural human hair wigs responded far better to the treatment than women who did not wear wigs.
THE COSTING
The actual cost of. wig is INR 9000. Raj Hair Pvt Ltd covers a portion of the cost (INR 3000). We are doing this campaign to cover the shortfall of INR 6000 per wig.

ABOUT ME AND THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Lakshya and I am 16 years old and a Grade 11 student at Sishya School, Adyar, Chennai.
I have undertaken this campaign to support cancer patients in India who struggle with the emotional and psychological impact of hair loss due to chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
I was saddened to discover that many cancer patients delay or avoid treatment due to the fear of social stigma and judgment associated with hair loss. This harsh reality touched my heart, and I felt compelled to do my part. That's why I am supporting The Cherian Foundation in providing high-quality wigs to cancer patients from economically weaker sections of society. This would help restore their dignity and self-confidence.
These wigs are specially designed for sensitive skin and will be distributed across 16 premier hospitals in India. Each wig costs INR 9000, but Raj Hair Pvt Ltd covers INR 3000. My goal is to raise INR 6000 per wig to bridge the shortfall.
I believe that every individual deserves to live with dignity and confidence, especially during their toughest battles. Your contribution will bring a smile to a cancer warrior's face and help them regain their self-esteem.

ABOUT THE CHERIAN FOUNDATION
The Cherian Foundation is a private charitable trust based in Chennai with a vision to extend support, expertise, and resources to the underprivileged. In its 20th year of operation, the foundation has successfully initiated and completed programs for school children, marginalized women fighting cancer, communities lacking basic healthcare, and relief work for disaster-hit regions.
“GIFT HAIR GIFT CONFIDENCE,” a signature campaign of The Cherian Foundation was initiated in the year 2014, to encourage marginalized cancer patients across the country to avail treatment. A unique program, this campaign runs to provide wigs to the beneficiaries. It undertakes all aspects of wig making from organizing hair donation drives, and manufacturing of high-quality wigs to coordinating wig donation drives and product support.
FEEDBACK THAT YOU GET
To ensure that there is complete transparency, the team at The Cherian Foundation will post feedback about 5-6 months after the campaign is over giving us a report on the beneficiaries. The details will then be posted on the UPDATES section of my campaign. Once the update is posted the platform will send an EMAIL alert to you. TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as The Cherian Foundation is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT Act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
FAQs
Will we get to know the details of the person who benefitted?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to The Cherian Foundation. It will take from 5 to 6 months after that to get details of fund use. Once I get this information from them I shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about how the funds were used.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes up to 2 weeks after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred to The Cherian Foundation. The receipts will start getting processed about 2 to 3 weeks AFTER that and will be sent to you directly.
