We often hear stories about dogs being ill-treated, cats being stuck in a pipe, or an injured cow. There are thousands of animals that face major threats every day.
There is an urgent need to rescue and rehabilitate these voiceless animals. Welfare for Animals in Goa (WAG) does exactly that and much, much more. They rescue 500+ animals every year. However, sustaining their operations to save animals has become a challenge. Rising veterinary costs and limited access to medical care also present significant hurdles.
This campaign aims to help these animals who urgently need to be rescued, rehabilitated, and cared for.
THE INITIATIVE
I have partnered with Welfare for Animals in Goa (WAG) to support and care for animals in distress. The NGO is based in Goa and primarily cares for dogs cats, rabbits, cows, goats, chickens, and parrots. They provide emergency aid to animals in distress.
Animals that get stuck in difficult situations are rescued. Besides rescuing animals in distress, the NGO takes care of their rehabilitation, medical care, food, and vaccinations. The cattle sanctuary in Siolim, Goa provides lifetime care for animals who have been rescued. The NGO also runs a fully functioning Veterinary Rescue Clinic.

My name is Riana Nair. I am 17-years-old and a Grade 12 student at the Canadian International School, Bengaluru.
My motivation for doing this campaign and supporting Welfare for Animals Goa (WAG) stems from my deep passion for animal welfare. Volunteering with WAG last spring gave me firsthand insight into the incredible work they do to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a safe haven for animals in need. Helping animals has always been close to my heart, and I feel strongly about making a difference in their lives. This campaign is my way of contributing to their mission, raising awareness, and giving back to an organization that works tirelessly to protect and care for voiceless beings.
Each contribution helps provide a second chance at life to animals who need it most. Together, we can build a compassionate community for all living beings. Your support can help us expand our reach and rescue many more animals in distress.

ABOUT WELFARE FOR ANIMALS IN GOA
Atul Sarin, with the support of a small group of dedicated animal lovers, having many years of animal welfare experience, decided to set up WAG with an emphasis on adoptions and sterilisations. They also realised that many cows in Goa are abandoned by their owners and stray too; they face similar difficulties to stray dogs and cats. With that in mind, a small NGO was set up in 2005, reporting dogs and cats for sterilizations, and rescuing stray, injured cattle. Since then we have grown into a Cattle Sanctuary and a fully functioning Veterinary Rescue Clinic. Our Shelter provides a home for injured cows, goats, pigs, chickens, you name it! Here they receive medical treatment, healthy food, and a home to recuperate. WAG's Rescue Clinic houses in-patient dogs and cats. Strays who have faced the harshest lives on the street finally have a place to rest and heal.
WAG is dedicated to providing care, shelter, and medical support to stray and abandoned animals in Goa. With a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these animals, we focus on adoptions, sterilizations, and rescue operations. WAG also runs a Cattle Sanctuary, providing a safe haven for injured cows, goats, pigs, and chickens, ensuring they receive proper medical treatment, healthy food, and a place to heal.
TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as Welfare for Animals in Goa is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT Act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
FAQs
Will we get to know the details of the beneficiary animals?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to Welfare for Animals in Goa. It will take 1-2 months after that to get details of the animals who benefitted. The NGO shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiary.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes a week after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred. The receipts will start getting processed about 2 to 3 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
