My journey with EcoZap began with deeply personal experiences. In Grade 10, my close friend contracted dengue just before our pre-board exams, highlighting how mosquito-borne diseases can disrupt lives. The previous year, our household's security guard suffered a severe bout of malaria, showcasing how vulnerable outdoor workers are to mosquito exposure. These incidents opened my eyes to the risks posed by mosquitoes, particularly for those with limited access to protective measures, and motivated me to create a sustainable solution that could make a real difference.
EcoZap is an innovative mosquito bat made from upcycled badminton racket waste, merging sustainability with practicality. What makes EcoZap unique is its commitment to repurposing discarded rackets into eco-friendly mosquito bats that reduce waste while addressing a significant health hazard. Each version of EcoZap is designed for increased safety and functionality, such as a 3-layer mesh, LED emergency light, and a 3D-printed frame to prevent short circuits. The project also ensures no part of the racket goes to waste by using leftovers to create pens and window-mounted mosquito nets, further embodying a zero-waste ethos.
I have been working on EcoZap since April 2024. During this time, I have successfully created EcoZap and EcoZap 2.0 and am currently developing the next-generation EcoZap 3.0, incorporating innovative features for improved performance and safety.

My name is Aryan Dhar. I am a Grade 11 student at Modern School, Vasant Vihar.
I am passionate about sustainability and innovation. Inspired by personal experiences with mosquito-borne diseases, I founded EcoZap, a project that repurposes discarded badminton rackets into eco-friendly mosquito bats. My commitment to sustainability doesn't stop there; I also use leftover racket parts to create pens and window-mounted mosquito nets, ensuring a zero-waste approach. Since starting EcoZap in April 2024, I have developed EcoZap and EcoZap 2.0 and am now working on the next-generation EcoZap 3.0. With aspirations to combine technology and sustainability, I aim to inspire change and make a tangible difference in my community and beyond.
Through this crowdfunding campaign, I aim to raise INR 1.5L to develop EcoZap 3.0. I plan to distribute them at hospitals and gurudwaras to people who really need the bats. Please support my campaign and help me bring EcoZap 3.0 to life.

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding.
