As students we sit in the comfort of our homes with few responsibilities. Our focus usually is to work hard and excel at school. However there are children who are not as fortunate .They are deprived of the basics - without a home & don’t have parents who can provide the love and support that we take for granted. We are doing this campaign to change the lives of 15 such Orphan children and would like you to please support this fundraising campaign .
SPARSHA TRUST is a NGO and a shelter that serves as a home to 50+ orphaned children. The trust has partnered with the Canadian International School & is on a mission to transform the lives of 15 such orphans - by sending them on an adventure camp to Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu. This will give them an opportunity to learn, connect and experience outdoors and nature ! Lets give them an opportunity to experience something incredible.
HELP ME RAISE 8,000 INR & FUND AN ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME!
ADVENTURE CAMP
The children at the SPARSHA shelter work 6 days a week at school, engaging in tuitions, learning classical dance and drama and participating in programs in collaborations with other schools around them; all without a parent at home. They are true testaments of resilience and strength.
As an encouragement for their learning, spirit and immense strength, the Sparsha Trust wants its children to learn by experiencing something outside of their shelter. They want them to experience life in the outdoors for the first time and understand life skills that would help them grow as individuals.
We have decided to take the students to a adventure camp - its called the Mistea Camp & is located at Kotagiri ,TN . Located at an altitude of 1700 meters, the camp is surrounded by lush tea gardens and has a breathtaking view of the misty Blue Mountains. Sparsh Trust with CIS aims to send 15 children who are studying in the 6th grade for this 4-day camp.

The kids would benefit from this opportunity .They can practice English, develop leadership skills, work together as a team, test their athletic skills and hone their endurance.Students would engage in rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, exploring local flora and fauna, learning traditional art from local artisans and much more.
ABOUT ME & THIS CAMPAIGN
My name is Z.J. and I am studying in Canadian International School, Bangalore. My classmates and I are raising funds to gift students of the Sparsha Shelter an “Adventure of a Lifetime”.
Most often, we don’t count our blessings. We are fortunate to have a family - our parents, siblings ,relatives. The comfort that we feel with them around is something that we take for granted. The kids at the shelter don’t have this basic comfort of having their parents around. They educate themselves, feed themselves, take care of themselves and are responsible for their own being.
The Sparsha Shelter is very supportive of them. They try to provide daily, basic necessities and values that turn them into good people.
I firmly believe that day -to-day experiences educate a person better than textbooks. It is these experiences that helps the person to grow into individuals who can face the world. I, along with my school, want to help these children to see the world a little better and gift them an experience of a lifetime!

MY EXPERIENCE
We also went on a trip on May 24th to Sparsha to take pictures of them, play games with them, and get to know all of them. The children at Sparsha were so nice. They are mainly around 8-12 but some are as old as 17.

Risks and challenges
I think I'll be able to get the whole Rs. 8,000, but I don't know how much my funds will cover, or who we're covering.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly. It’s s concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream is a crowdfunding site and platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds.
You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on a FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries in addition to tax benefits.
