My name is Aadya Jolly. I am 14 years old and in Grade 10 at the Chirec International School.
The COVID-19 pandemic has a profound impact on everyone in a variety of ways. The hardest hit are daily wage earners, migrant labour and the financially poor. Lacking jobs and income, millions of workers are stranded across the country. Pregnant women and little children battle hunger as they cross state borders on foot. Images of families resting on roads and railtracks during this humanitarian crisis are haunting. Even after the lockdown is lifted, their plight remains uncertain as jobs will be scarce. They fear dying of starvation more than the virus itself.
As the priviledged ones, it is our duty to step up and help them through this time of uncertainity. I request your support for my campaign so that we can ease their hardship during these unprecedented times in our own small ways. This campaign aims to provide meals and bottled water to them across Hyderabad and is done by Akshaya Patra (through their kitchens) in close coordination with the local administration. Let's come together and do our bit to help our fellow countrymen.
